BIO

Caelon Colbert is a dynamic actor, singer, director, and educator based in Little Rock, Arkansas. A proud graduate of Arkansas State University, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre in 2021. He has continued his training through the prestigious Actor Therapy program, studying under Broadway talents Lindsey Mendez and Ryan Scott Oliver. Caelon currently serves in an administrative role with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s School of Literary & Performing Arts. He is also a co-host of the Spotlight Cabaret series at both Argenta Contemporary Theatre and The Joint. Deeply committed to arts education and equity, Caelon is passionate about empowering youth through theatre and advocating for underrepresented voices on and off the stage. Recent directing credits include Dreamgirls, The Prom, Spring Awakening, Once on This Island, Black Nativity, The Theory of Relativity, and 13: The Musical - productions marked by bold vision and inclusive storytelling.

To wrap up Season 3 for Actors Theatre of Little Rock, they ended with Hairspray—a show I’ve been wanting to see live for a long time. From December 3–20, this cast brought the beat to the Quapaw United Methodist Church basement, transforming the space into an immersive, joy-filled playground bursting with big hair, bold voices, and infectious energy.

Join them as they take you through a tropical fairytale full of romance, magic, and tragedy. With Book and Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, Music by Stephen Flaherty, and Direction by Caelon Colbert, and based on Rosa Guy's 1985 novel My Love, My Love; or, The Peasant Girl, a Caribbean retelling of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid, you will fall in love with these characters as they struggle through trauma, social status, and colorism.
