Brenda Vaccaro is an Academy Award-nominated actress whose career has spanned Broadway, film, and television for more than six decades. A three-time Tony Award nominee, she appeared on Broadway in productions including The Affair, Cactus Flower, How Now, Dow Jones, The Goodbye People, The Odd Couple, and Jake's Women. Her acclaimed stage performances earned Tony nominations for Cactus Flower, How Now, Dow Jones, and The Goodbye People.
On film, Vaccaro is best known for her performances in Midnight Cowboy, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination, and Once Is Not Enough, for which she received an Academy Award nomination and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her additional film credits include Judgment: The Trial of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, Airport '77, Capricorn One, Supergirl, The Mirror Has Two Faces, Heart of Midnight, Zorro, The Gay Blade, Death Weekend, You Don't Know Jack, and And Just Like That....
Vaccaro has also enjoyed an extensive television career, starring in the series Sara and Paper Dolls while making memorable guest appearances on shows including The Fugitive, Marcus Welby, M.D., The Streets of San Francisco, The Love Boat, St. Elsewhere, Murder, She Wrote, The Golden Girls, Columbo, Touched by an Angel, Friends, The King of Queens, Nip/Tuck, and And Just Like That.... She earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won for The Shape of Things in 1974. In addition, she has lent her voice to animated series including Johnny Bravo, The Critic, and The Smurfs, and returned to the stage in 2015, replacing Valerie Harper in Nice Work If You Can Get It at the Ogunquit Playhouse.
