Ben Frost and Richard Hough have been writing together since 2010. Their most recent commissions include an original story inspired by Goethe’s THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE (for producer James Seabright). For Christmas 2015, they wrote a comic adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A CHRISTMAS CAROL (also for The Castle Theatre), and are currently developing a new musical version of Jules Verne’s AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS, plus a wholly original project entitled NEON. They have written the full-length adult musical POSSESSION (about a gothic murder in the backwaters of suburbia) and a one-woman show called SIN (about the wife of a US politician at the end of her tether).
Ben Frost has written scores for original musicals and several short films, and his orchestrations and arrangements are regularly performed in the concert hall and in theatres. Ben was mentored by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and worked closely on the original productions of LOVE NEVER DIES, THE WIZARD OF OZ, and the JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR Arena Tour. He has also contributed arrangements to London and tour productions of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, CATS, TELL ME ON A SUNDAY, STARLIGHT EXPRESS and THE SOUND OF MUSIC.
