Two shows into their second series, PORCH PERFORMANCES is already making a mark in the 2021 season of live entertainment.

A second season of last year's popular concert series features more stars than one could have thought possible, as live entertainment returns to the area.

Luna Stage debuts its ambitious, two-month-long Voting Writes Project, a series of interdisciplinary performance events celebrating civic participation. This multimedia experience celebrates democratic participation in advance of the November 2020 election. The Voting Writes Project was created in collaboration with the Andrew Goodman Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Luna Stage has announced a new Solo Show Creation Workshop VOICES ACROSS AMERICA. The workshop will be co-facilitated by 3 Solo Performers. The workshop will be limited to 9 participants. 

Luna Stage is launching a nation-wide virtual solo show creation program, Voices Across America. The project will be collaboratively facilitated by three solo performers via Zoom, and was inspired by Luna Stage's American Voices series which premiered last year and featured world premieres of solo projects.

Luna Stage has launched a series of programs to connect, celebrate and inspire local communities during the time of COVID-19. These include free 10-minute playwriting classes for community writers, solo show creation workshops featuring voices from across the country, a song cycle of commissioned pieces inspired by local heroes, and summer camps.

One of the biggest challenges in producing Shakespeare, is making it appealing and fresh to audiences of all ages. 'How can it feel both accessible and intriguing?' With these thoughts in mind, Aaron Posner and his team must have had some long brainstorming sessions. Luckily, however, they have truly succeeded at a concept that is both loads of fun and works perfectly for William Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor. It's 1972 at the Folger and it's quite the time!

The Merry Wives of Windsor is on stage at Folger Theatre from January 14 through March 1, 2020.

Folger Theatre concludes its successful 2019/20 season with The Merry Wives of Windsor. Aaron Posner (King John, The Winter's Tale, Twelfth Night at Folger Theatre) returns to the Folger to direct Shakespeare's delightful comedy on love, money, deception, and the power of women, set here in the early 1970s.
