Palace Theatre's LEGALLY BLONDE Raises More Than $3,000 for NHBCC

After each of the nine performances, cast members of Legally Blonde, The Musical made their way to the Palace Theatre lobby wielding pink buckets and pink ribbons to greet audience members and accept donations for the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition (NHBCC). The cast members raised more than $3,000 for NHBCC, an organization which provides assistance to New Hampshire residents with breast cancer.

The NHTP Senior Repertory Company presents Antigone, a translation by Lewis Galantiere from the play by Jean Anouihl. First performed in Paris in 1944 during the German occupation under censorship, the play is clearly a metaphor for the French Resistance movement and its rejection of fascist authority.

The NHTP Senior Repertory Company presents Antigone, running tonight, May 18 through May 27, in a translation by Lewis Galantiere from the play by Jean Anouilh, which was adapted from the original Greek play by Sophocles. Antigone, the daughter of Oedipus, is sentenced to execution for burying her dead brother after her uncle, King Creon, declares that his body is to be left for the vultures. The prohibition against desecrating the dead is almost as old as war itself; and recently brought swift punishment to American Marines in Afghanistan.

Palace Theatre Recieves $30k Pledge for Second Century Campaign from Northeast Delta Dental

The Palace Theatre has announced it is a recipient of a pledge commitment for $10,000 per year over the next three years toward its Second Century Campaign designed to fund its capital campaign. The fund will be used for much needed theatre improvements and safety upgrades.

A young puppet theater company called The Phantom Limb has teamed with the renowned Kronos Quartet to produce an historical reenactment of the harrowing 1914 trans-Antarctic expedition by Earnest Shackleton and 27 staunch souls. The result is 690 South: The Shackleton Project, a marionette performance that takes viewers on an artful, emotional journey. It will be presented free of charge at 7:30 p.m. tonight, May 2, at Concord NH's Capitol Center for the Arts.
