A dark musical comedy, Chicago delivers the answers to the questions above, along with steamy dancing and powerhouse vocals. We follow Velma Kelley (Christine Dulong) and Roxie Hart (Jessi Trauth*), two murderesses with only one thing in common; they both killed in a moment of passion to obtain fame. Set in the roaring 20's, the city of Chicago is the backdrop to the jazz-laden, booze-filled decadence of the times. Hilarity and tongue-in -cheek court room drama ensue as the ladies of the Cook County Jail fight for their "innocence".

The Rep is turning up the dial with a little something just for you grown-ups: the Seacoast Rep's Red Light Series. Seacoast brings to its main stage the acclaimed Wonderlust Burlesque. This promises to be the burlesque event summer if not the year. Performances will run Wednesday nights in August starting August 8th, 2012.

The Palace Theatre and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats announce that Northeast Delta Dental Stadium will serve as a venue for a Summer Concert at the Ballpark. The Beach Party Boys a tribute to The Beach Boys and The Jersey Kid a tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons will take the stage at the home field of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on August 11th at 7:00 pm.

The 39 Steps, a fast-paced comedy whodunit, opens July 18 at the Peterborough Players and runs through July 29. Patrick Barlow adapted the play from the novel by John Buchan and the film of Alfred Hitchcock. Tickets are $37, except $39 on Saturdays. A special ticket price of $25 is offered to anyone 35 years or younger for the Saturday performance on July 21.

RB Productions and Capitol Center Collaborate on SWEENEY TODD and More, Summer 2012

A new arts collaboration between RB Productions and the Capitol Center for the Arts is underway with four productions coming to Concord this summer. RB Productions has, since its founding a decade ago, been producing high quality theater for the Concord area especially through its highly praised summer youth theater camps. These summer productions had been previously staged at Beaver Meadow School, but this year they are all moving to New Hampshire's premier stage-the Capitol Center for the Arts.

The Peterborough Players will celebrate Independence Day with the opening of the musical I Do! I Do!, which runs from July 4 - 15, 2012. Tickets for the special July 4th holiday performance are 2 for $40. Tickets for the Saturday, July 7, performance are $25 for anyone 35 years old or younger (ID required).For other performances, tickets are $37 except for Saturdays, $39.

The Peterborough Players presents its first children's show of the season, A Duck Called Ugly, adapted by Catherine Gray from the book The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen. Appropriate for children age four and up, this beloved story opens June 29th and runs for a total of nine performances through July 21st; all performances start at 10:30 a.m. and end at approximately 11:20 a.m.

The Palace Theatre Begins New Seat Installations

The Palace Theatre will begin installing 489 new seats next week to replace the theater's smaller, aging seats. The new seats will have a classic aesthetic to match the historic theatre, but with modern materials and comfort for patrons. The wider seating will be configured to add 33 additional seats which will include adding an extra row in the front center of the theatre's Golden Circle Seating.
