The Palace Theatre Recieves New Defibrillator

By: Oct. 10, 2011

The Palace Theatre has announced it is a recipient of an automated external defibrillator (AED) machine valued at $2,500 from the New England Heart Institute Foundation. The generous gift, in response to a request by the Palace Theatre Trust, was recently installed in the lobby of the historic Palace Theatre.

The Board of Trustees of the Palace Theatre Trust is grateful for the generosity and support of the New England Heart Institute Foundation. The New England Heart Institute Foundation supports cardiac initiatives primarily through the distribution of AEDS to organizations such as the Palace Theatre, YMCAs, schools and fire departments throughout New England.

Built in 1914, the Palace Theatre is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Palace Theatre is a nonprofit performing arts center that hosts its own professional company, youth and teen program and presenting acts. It is committed to achieving its mission through preserving the historic facilities of the theatre, responding creatively to the cultural and entertainment needs of the community and governing in a fiscally responsible and strategic manner. The Palace Theatre's Web site is www.palacetheatre.org.
