Parade Productions will present Deborah Zoe Laufer's The Last Schwartz from January 31st through February 23rd at the Mizner Park Cultural Arts Center's Studio Theatre. The play received unanimously glowing reviews when it debuted at Florida Stage in 2002.

Acerbic comedy and salty satire are in store for The Women's Theatre Project audiences as the well respected company enters into its 11th season and its second year at the Willow Theatre in Boca Raton's Sugar Sand Park. The Lyons will run from December 6th through December 22nd, 2013, and Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins will play February 28th through March 16th, 2014. It will be the first time either of these plays has been produced in South Florida.

Up next will be the world premiere 'Blow Me' by Jessica Farr and directed by Paul Tei which will open August 16, 2013 for a three-week run in MTC's 50-seat SandBox space, located at 9816 NE 2nd Avenue in Miami Shores. Winner of the Tony and Olivier Awards, Brian Friel's finely-etched memory play Dancing at Lughnasa will conclude Palm Beach Dramamworks' 2012-2013 season, with performances beginning on Friday, May 24 (8PM) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street). The touching story of five adult sisters will play a strictly limited engagement through June 16, with specially priced preview performances slated for May 22 & 23.

Young Patronesses of the Opera (YPO), in conjunction with Florida Grand Opera (FGO), held the 27th edition of YPO Voice Competition, awarding $46,000 in prizes to young singers from around the country. The Finals Concert and Awards Ceremony were held at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County on Saturday, April 27, 2013.

Tonight, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. actors from The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre (BRIFT) will present the highly atmospheric The Third Man in much the same way as it was presented in 1949 during the golden age of radio. Utilizing specially designed props and some unusual devices for sound effects, the performers will reenact the mystery surrounding the murder of Harry Lime, a man who was not what he appeared to be. Audience participation is part of the fun.
