Barry University to Present ROMEO & JULIET as Part of '450 Years of Shakespeare' Event, 10/23-27

Barry University Presents: 450 Years of Shakespeare (1564-2014), a two week collaborative celebration of the work of the world's most famous writer with presentations of Music, Art, Literature, Film and Theatre, culminating in the Department of Fine Arts production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, directed and adapted by Antonio Amadeo and John Manzelli.

Two of South Florida's most critically acclaimed professional artists: City Theatre Artistic Director John Manzelli (Barry University-Assistant Professor of Theatre) and The Naked Stage's Antonio Amadeo, along with a team of the area's best professional designers and a cast of Barry University's talented theatre majors, present the greatest love story of all time. Set in a modern urban city separated by race and economics, what chance does love (and ultimately) peace have against the forces of hate and ingrained prejudice.

Design Team: Lighting Design- Ron Burns, Costume Design- K Blair Brown, Fight Choreography- John Manzelli, Sound Design- Mcley LaFrance, and Scenic Design- Kaitlin Sarnacki.

· A Post Show Discussion on the relevant philosophical and artistic issues surrounding the production will be held immediately following the October 24th performance.

The discussion will be lead by Dr. Ruth Tallman- Assistant Professor of Philosophy and John Manzelli- Assistant Professor of Theatre. Reservations and tickets are not required.
