NT Live Rebroadcasts ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS 10/20

National Theatre Live continues its third season with Nicholas Hytner's production of ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS, by Richard Bean based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni, with songs by Grant Olding. James Corden stars in "one of the funniest productions in the National's history" (The Guardian). The "classic comedy, hilariously updated" (The Times) transfers to London's West End in November. National Theatre Live is an initiative by the UK's National Theatre to broadcast live performances onto cinema screens around the world. NCM Fathom will present ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS at more than 200 additional U.S. movie theaters nationwide.

ABOUT:
Set in Brighton Beach in the early 1960's, Richard Bean's English version of Goldoni's classic 18th century Italian comedy, sex, food and money are high on the agenda. Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall (Corden) becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small time East End hood, now in Brighton to collect £6000 from his fiancee's dad. But Roscoe is really his sister Rachel posing as her own dead brother, who's been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Holed up at the Cricketers' Arms, the permanently ravenous Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a second job with one Stanley Stubbers, who is hiding from the police and waiting to be re-united with Rachel. To prevent discovery, Francis must keep his two guvnors apart. Simple.

On November 3rd, Fathom will present The Kitchen, NT Live's second offering of the season. Arnold Wesker's extraordinary black comedy The Kitchen, set in a restaurant in 1950s London is directed by Bijan Sheibani and features an ensemble cast of 29 actors. Time Out says "Sheibani's balletic large-ensemble revival is an exhilarating spectacle" and the Times of London says "Fabulous, fast-moving direction... With wit and energy it keeps you gasping."
