Mad Cow Theatre has been given major gifts in support of their new facility, a state of the art 2-theatre complex slated to open in fall of 2012 at 54 West Church Street in Downtown Orlando.
We are excited to announce among our recently received gifts is a $400,000 donation from Harriett Lake, local philanthropist and major supporter of the Central Florida artistic community. Her gift includes the naming of our main stage, The 170 Seat Harriett Theatre which will have its grand opening with the Stephen Sondheim musical Sunday in the Park with George in Fall 2012.
The new home for Mad Cow Theatre is the largest venture in Mad Cow's 15-year history. Mad Cow Theatre has continually expanded at a pace that reflects the needs of the city around it, and today is no exception.
To date, we’ve raised approximately $1.35 million in one of the most challenging fundraising environments in generations. We have also received gifts from Maureen & Gary Fries, Holland & Knight, L2 Studios, Mara & Harvey Levitt, Susan McKenna, Sigrid & Phillip Tiedke, the developer of 55 West, and many anonymous donors who believe that Orlando's success is tied directly to the nurturing and funding of the regional cultural scene.
There are many naming opportunities still available at our new facility, with information available on the Mad Cow website.
Mad Cow Theatre would like to thank the City of Orlando and our current real estate partners both at the current and future space in this dynamic transition. Mad Cow Theatre has been Downtown Orlando’s resident professional theatre company for the past twelve years and we look forward to many more at 54 West Church Street. Mad Cow is committed to bringing our audience and community the best possible selection of plays that entertains and enriches the Central Florida community.
