As part of the LA Phil's World Music series, Goran Bregovic, the Sarajevo-born musical icon of the Balkans, debuts at Walt Disney Concert Hall with his Wedding and Funeral Orchestra featuring a Serbian gypsy band, a string ensemble, an Orthodox male choir and two Bulgarian sisters singing back-up.

Bregovic is both the catalyst and ringmaster for a musical spectacle unlike anything else on North American stages. Creating a live experience far greater than the sum of its parts, Bregovic's live concerts are symphonic raves, cathartic and delirious. His music marries the dance tunes of a raucous Roma brass band with traditional Eastern European choral music, all with a rock-and-roll edge.

Bregovic is currently working on a new album, Champagne for Gypsies, scheduled for release in Spring 2012. This album is the follow-up to Alkohol, his first U.S. release (2009).
