Eddie Redmayne to Screen Exclusive Footage of FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM at Entertainment Weekly Popfest

Though it won't be in theaters until later this year, Eddie Redmayne will take to Entertainment Weekly's PopFest stage to screen exclusive footage of his wildly anticipated new film "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them," J.K. Rowling's prequel to the Harry Potter series. Redmayne's panel will take place on Sunday, October 30, the second day of the two-day ultimate pop culture event. Featuring an original screenplay from J.K. Rowling, Fantastic Beasts tells of Newt Scamander (Redmayne), a wizard who arrives in New York City in 1926 carrying an enchanted briefcase filled with magical creatures. Katherine Waterston, Allison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, and Ezra Miller also star in the film, out in theaters Nov. 18.

This announcement comes on the heels of the news that Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life creator/executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino will be appearing at PopFest to discuss all things Stars Hollow and unveil an exclusive first look at Netflix's highly-anticipated four-part event.

Entertainment Weekly's PopFest, the ultimate pop culture event, will take place at The Reef, located at 1933 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90007, in downtown Los Angeles.

PopFest will kick off on the evening of Friday, October 28 with a special preview screening of Marvel's Doctor Strange, followed by a Q&A with its director, Scott Derrickson. The first 300 people to purchase two-day VIP tickets to the festival will receive a complimentary ticket to the screening. Tickets are available to the general public at http://ewpopfest.com/.

Authors Anne Rice, Chris Colfer, Sophia Amoruso, Victoria Aveyard, Jade Chang, and Terry McMillan were the most recent addition to PopFest, an entertainment festival that will feature appearances and performances by A-list talent across movies, TV, music, gaming and books. They joined an incredible lineup that includes James Corden, the host of CBS' The Late Late Show, live performances by music superstars Nick Jonas and Janelle Monae, discussions with Oscar-winning actress and director Jodie Foster, Emmy-winning showrunner Ryan Murphy and friends, and Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. Attendees will have an opportunity to see first-look footage and special guests from Sony's Dark Tower, a live taping of Anna Faris's podcast, "Anna Faris Is Unqualified," a reunion with the cast of HAPPY ENDINGS performing a never-before-seen episode, a conversation with OUTLANDER author Diana Gabaldon, the cast of The CW's CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND performing their musical mashups live, a live table read from the cast of Bob's Burgers, and a conversation between husband-and-wife YA superstars Tahareh Mafi (Shatter Me) and Ransom Riggs (Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children). The weekend will conclude with a 20th anniversary SCREAM celebration including a Wes Craven tribute, followed by an outdoor screening of the film. Additional programming will be announced in the coming weeks.

Entertainment Weekly's curatorial talents will be brought to life as a two-day festival with a mix of pop culture related events including live music, film and television screenings, talks with talent and creators including actors, TV showrunners, film directors, videogame designers, authors and more. EW PopFest will offer an unforgettable immersive experience for fans, celebrities and brand partners. With a built-in fan base and millennial draw, EW PopFest will attract cross-generational attendees, tapping into Entertainment Weekly's combined audience of 28 million loyal, engaged fans. This highly interactive celebration of pop culture will engage consumers with innovative live and digital experiences, setting a standard no other festival can challenge.
