Jill Eikenberry With Michael Tucker Return As Part Of Music Mondays

Mercedes Ruehl And Cast Of SAFE SPACE Now In Rehearsal For Run At Bay Street Theater

Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce the cast of SAFE SPACE (June 25 - July 21) is now in rehearsal.The new play is by Alan Fox; directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien (All My Sons, Henry IV, Hairspray, The Coast of Utopia). The play will star Mercedes Ruehl (Torch Song, Hustlers, Bay Street's Viva la Vida!), Sasha Diamond (Blindspot, The Romanoffs, Murphy Brown) and Rodney Richardson (The Day Shall Come, CBS's FBI, Somebody's Daughter). Tickets are now on sale by calling the Box Office at 631-725-9500 or online at www.baystreet.org.  The Box Office is open daily from 11 am - show time.

Kicking off their 28th season of surefire hits, the Bay Street Theater offers the world premiere of Wade Dooley's The Prompter. Initially, the Sag Harbor, Long Island, venue presented a reading of the one-act play last year during their annual New Works Festival to much praise. Running through June 16th, it is thrilling to see how the show has developed.

Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce a fourth bonus show for the 2019 Mainstage Season entitled My Witch: The Stories of Margaret Hamilton (July 17-21). The show is a new play by John Ahlin which is about the life of Margaret Hamilton, who played the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. Will Pomerantz, Bay Street's Associate Artistic Director, is directing the production. Will also directed the sellout smash Evita last summer at Bay Street Theater. Margaret Hamilton is portrayed by Jean Tafler (The Deadly Spawn and Una: A Dark Faerie Tale).

Bay Street Theater Receives Grant from NEA for Literature Live

The National Endowment for the Arts Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2019.  Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $10,000 to Bay Street Theater for the Literature Live! production in 2019 for regional schools. Art Works is the Arts Endowment's principal grantmaking program. The agency received 1,592 Art Works applications for this round of grantmaking and will award 977 grants in this category.

Closing out The John W. Engeman Theatre's dazzling season is a thrilling a showing of Elton John & Tim Rice's Aida. The beautiful Northport venue outdoes itself with the lush production of the heart-tugging musical. Excellently directed by Paul Stancato, the cast is remarkable drawing the audience in at every turn.
