Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation Hosts Sculpture Dedication

By: Oct. 10, 2011

The Northglenn Arts and Humanities Foundation (NAHF) will host a dedication ceremony for the 2010/2011 People's Choice Award-winning sculpture, "Blooming Pink Amaryllis Bulb" Tuesday, October 25 in front of Northglenn City Hall at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend and light refreshments will be served.

The sculpture was part of Northglenn's Art on Parade program before it won "The Peoples Choice" award. The program features on-loan, outdoor sculpture exhibited at E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park for one year. The public votes for their favorite, and NAHF works toward purchasing the piece for permanent display in the City of Northglenn.

"Blooming Pink Amaryllis Bulb" is made of polychrome bronze, is 4' 8" high, and cost $5,900. Artist Sharles is a nationally known sculptor and painter who exhibits his unusual art works in fine art galleries from coast to coast. His botanical and floral art-works mixed with small animal and wildlife are coveted by collectors. Flowering amaryllis is a favorite subject of Sharles in both painting and sculpture.
