Performing Arts Fort Worth welcomes the imaginative and eco-friendly dance ensemble The Aluminum Show to Bass Performance Hall on Thursday, April 28, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $22-$44, and are on sale NOW!

Hailed by the BBC News as a "visually stunning performance," The Aluminum Show is made up of dancers and actors who bring to life aluminum-tone industrial materials to tell the heartwarming story of a young machine determined to reunite with its parents. It is a family-friendly tour-de-force that combines dance, humor, puppetry, acrobatics and a lot of shiny materials.

"It was an impressive visual arts performance that neither my kids nor I will forget," wrote a blogger for The Oklahoman. "And the next time I see an aluminum duct coil, I'll remember seeing one dance on stage."

The show is eco-friendly. To build the set and dress the cast, the producers of The Aluminum Show use recovered materials from industrial factories. Those materials are shot out of cannons, sewn into costumes and wrapped around audience members.

Founded by Israel dancer Ilan Azriel and his wife Ella Munk-Azriel, The Aluminum Show debuted in Jerusalem in 2003. The popularity of the show skyrocketed in 2008, after a performance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it received rave reviews. The Independent magazine called it "energetic" and "impressively coordinated," while The List magazine described it as "one of the most weirdly innovative shows you could hope to see." BBC called it "silver foil spectacular."

The current U.S. tour - the troupe's third - is visiting 40 venues in 29 states.
