Chris already had legions of devoted fans for his incomparable work as one-third of Medeski Martin & Wood, while Oliver toured with Tinsley Ellis before releasing a half dozen albums with his band King Johnson. With drummer Jano Rix added as a permanent third member, it's become quite clear that The Wood Brothers are indeed the main act. Touring in support of their January 2020 release, Kingdom In My Mind.

Haven't heard of it? That's not too surprising. It lasted a little over a month and closed on Broadway after 49 performances. Undaunted, he writes the first act for another musical, ALL-AMERICAN five years later. It also flops, closing on Broadway after 80 performances.

Their troubles, grave and yet somehow hilarious, are highlighted by their priggish cousin, Chick. Also in the mix is the awkward young lawyer who tries to keep Babe out of jail while helpless not to fall in love with her.
