Dubbed 'masters of soulful folk' by Paste, The Wood Brothers formed after brothers Chris and Oliver Wood pursued separate musical careers for 15 years. Chris already had legions of devoted fans for his incomparable work as one-third of Medeski Martin & Wood, while Oliver toured with Tinsley Ellis before releasing a half dozen albums with his band King Johnson. With drummer Jano Rix added as a permanent third member, it's become quite clear that The Wood Brothers are indeed the main act. Touring in support of their January 2020 release, Kingdom In My Mind.

Haven't heard of it? That's not too surprising. It lasted a little over a month and closed on Broadway after 49 performances. Undaunted, he writes the first act for another musical, ALL-AMERICAN five years later. It also flops, closing on Broadway after 80 performances.

Lenny, the oldest sister, is unmarried at and facing diminishing marital prospects; Meg, the middle sister, who quickly outgrew Hazlehurst, is back after a failed singing career on the West coast; Babe, the youngest, is out on bail after shooting her husband in the stomach. Their troubles, grave and yet somehow hilarious, are highlighted by their priggish cousin, Chick. Also in the mix is the awkward young lawyer who tries to keep Babe out of jail while helpless not to fall in love with her. The Columbus Symphony today announced the winner of its 2020 Young Musicians Competition, 16-year-old violinist Cecilia Martin. As such, Martin has been awarded the first-ever Lois H. Allen Concerto Prize of $1,000 donated by the Friends of the Symphony and will also perform her winning piece as a soloist with the Columbus Symphony at The Symphony Unplugged! at the Ohio Theatre on Wednesday, March 18.
