DreamWrights Youth and Family Theatre has announced the opening of three November classes to help children from ages 3 to 16 learn about theatre, develop their theatre skills, build creativity, and gain confidence.

"DreamWrights classes have been specifically developed as an educational guide to introduce students of all abilities to the world of theatre," said Shannon Hallisey, director of education of DreamWrights. "Through these classes, younger students are given the opportunity to develop dramatic play skills and to learn about being on stage, while older students learn the theatre basics like how to audition, how to project their voices on stage, how to memorize lines, and much more. It's a fun, interactive experience that brings many students back year after year."

For November, DreamWrights is offering the following classes:

Storybook Trunk Adventure Individual Classes

Nov. 2 from 9 to 11 a.m. (Jungle Theme)

Nov. 9 from 9 to 11 a.m. (Zoo Adventures Theme)

Nov. 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. (Ocean Theme)

Nov. 23 from 9 to 11 a.m. (Adventures with Dr. Seuss Theme)

Each of the Storybook classes serves as an individual experience to introduce children ages 3-4 to the theatre. Students are welcome to take all four classes or select one or more that interest them. Each class involves a theme and includes a story time, a craft, and dramatic play. Registration for individual Storybook Trunk sessions must be made one week prior to each session date. The cost for these classes is $18 per class or $67 for all four classes. (To receive the discounted price on all four classes, registrations must be received by Oct. 30.)

For the children ages 5-7, this series of classes serves as an introduction to being on stage! Students will be divided into small groups and each group will be assigned a character. The last class concludes with a full performance for parents, friends, and family who want to support their little actor. Registration for this series includes all four classes and registration for individual class dates is not available. The cost for this series of classes is $72.00.

This series of classes serves as a young actor's (ages 8 to 16) first production class. Students can expect to learn how to memorize lines, how to project on stage, how to go through the audition process, blocking on stage and more. Each child will be cast as a character and the final class will culminate in the performance of Jack and the Magic Beans for an audience of parents, family and friends.
