On Stage at Kingsborough, a leading performing arts presenter located at Brooklyn's Kingsborough Community College presents its 2017 spring season, featuring world class artists from around the globe. On Stage at Kingsborough brings internationally renowned performing artists to Southern Brooklyn with an eclectic roster spanning multiple genres including music, dance, theatre and family programming. The full 2016-2017 season began September 24, 2016 and runs through May 20, 2017.

For families with children or the young at heart, comes "Twinkle Tames A Dragon," from the award-winning Vital Theatre Company. Written by Katharine Holabird, author of the popular "Angelina Ballerina" series, "Twinkle Tames a Dragon," is a charming new musical where a fairy has to figure out how to tame a naughty pet dragon in time for Fairy Pet Day. With colorful, glittery fairy costumes, catchy songs and a story of friendship, the audience will be taken on a delightful visual and auditory journey. Canada's longest running play, "Morgan's Journey" has been delighting children and their families for nearly three decades and is a captivating exploration of the joyous yet challenging childhood experiences that offers audiences a unique opportunity for active participation. The audience will follow Morgan the Clown on a journey of discovery, as Morgan learns a valuable and moving lesson about love and the true meaning of friendship.

Musical highlights include an evening of Jazz at the Lighthouse as MusicTalks, an organization that breaks down the barriers between musicians and audiences hosts award-winning vocalist Thana Alexa, accompanied by the Israeli 12th Night Jazz Quartet, for an evening of outstanding jazz and stories tracing the legacy of the legendary singer, Ella Fitzgerald. The event is hosted by MusicTalks founder and award-winning musician, Elad Kabilio. Join acclaimed jazz and cabaret singer Natalie Douglas for her show, "Four Women" and listen to her majestic voice as she performs the signature works of Nina Simone, Lena Horne, Abbey Lincoln, and Billie Holiday. Douglas recently brought her gorgeous pipes and inspiring song interpretations to Birdland Jazz Club, Carnegie Hall, and Cafe Carlyle.

For dance enthusiasts, from Argentina, Che Malambo, a powerhouse company of 14 Argentina "gauchos" will bring awe-inspiring precision footwork, rhythmic stomping, drumming, singing, and whirling boleadoras (lassos) to the stage. Danced solely by men, the fiery Malambo tradition began in the 17th century as competitive duels that would challenge skills of agility, strength, and zapeteo, the fast-paced footwork inspired by the rhythm of the galloping horses of their native Argentina. This will be Che Malambo's Brooklyn debut following a critically-acclaimed performance at City Center in 2015. From Canada, The StepCrew is an extravaganza of Celtic music, song, and three styles of percussive dance: traditional Irish Step, Tap, and Ottawa Valley - a form known for fast, high-stepping, exuberant jigs and reels. This dynamic tour de force takes the audience on an adventure of dance, from the haunting beauty of Ireland to the spirited wilds of North America.

Broadway Backstage will give audience members a behind the scenes look at Broadway, as six Broadway stars with starring roles in such Broadway blockbusters as Chicago, Wicked, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, Evita, and Jesus Christ Superstar, belt out the tunes that they sing from the world's grandest stages and share backstage gossip, on-stage mishaps, "big break" moments, and other insider stories.

From the Drama Desk Award-Winning Godlight Theatre Company comes "In the Heat of the Night," adapted from the award-winning book that inspired the Oscar-winning film and Emmy-winning television series. The play takes place in 1962 in the small town of Argo, Alabama. A dead white man is discovered and the local police arrest a black man named Virgil Tibbs, but soon discover that their prime suspect is in fact a homicide detective from California. Tibbs becomes the racially-tense community's single hope in solving a brutal murder that is turning up no witnesses, no motives, and no clues.
