brooklynONE productions will present the North American premiere of New Love, the internationally produced play by Adam Szymkowicz, this March at the Tom Kane Theatre in Industry City.

Told through a fast-moving series of scenes set across New York City—from bars and bedrooms to rehearsal halls and public spaces—New Love is a smart, funny, and deeply human exploration of what it means to pursue connection while carrying the weight of past relationships, professional uncertainty, and the fear of not being “enough.”

This production culminates in a live audience choice that determines the play’s final moments. Rather than functioning as a novelty, the moment invites the audience to step into the same emotional crossroads faced by the characters, reinforcing the play’s central question: when connection feels risky, do we choose safety or vulnerability?

Producing Company
brooklynONE productions (bkONE) now in its 20th year, was founded in 2006 by Tom Kane and Anthony Marino as a haven for emerging artists. Based in the heart of Brooklyn, the company develops bold, innovative, and experimental performances — from original works to reimagined classics — spanning theatre, film, music, mixed media, and more. From 2006 to 2014, bkONE called the historic Church of the Generals in Bay Ridge home. When the church closed in 2014, the company entered a nomadic chapter — producing one-off events and performances throughout New York City from 2015 to 2022. That journey eventually led to a creative partnership with Industry City, where bkONE began performing regularly and ultimately established its permanent home: The Tom Kane Theatre, an intimate black box-style performance space at the center of a thriving arts community. bkONE maintains strong ties to its Brooklyn roots and remains committed to fostering collaboration, supporting artists of all ages and experience levels, and expanding access to transformative performance experiences throughout NYC and beyond.
