On the heels of Cambodian New Year, ArtsEmerson is honored to welcome See You Yesterday, a moving performance by Global Arts Corps which explores the painful history of the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia. Directed by Michael Lessac, nineteen Cambodian performers utilize their extraordinary physical skills, including acrobatics and circus arts, to travel back in time and shatter a legacy of silence.
FPAC Presents WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?

On April 26 and 27 at 7:30 pm, the Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) will present Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at THE BLACK BOX in downtown Franklin. The play examines the complexities of the marriage of a middle-aged couple, Martha and George. Late one evening, after a university faculty party, they receive an unwitting younger couple, Nick and Honey, as guests, and draw them into their bitter and frustrated relationship. The production stars Nick Paone, Hallie Wetzell, Lucas Melfi, and Amanda Dubois.
8th Annual Nantucket Book Festival Comes 13-16 June 2019

Nantucket Book Festival has established itself as a major summer destination for booklovers with impressive and eclectic line-ups of award-winning authors. The four-day Festival, June 13-16, will offer author readings, panel discussions and social events in an informal atmosphere that encourages conversations between writers and readers. In the Spring of 2001 playwright Patrick Riviere finished the first draft of his play The House of Nunzio. It was not his first play, but his first in years. By the fall of 2003, the full-length play described as a 'humorous drama' had been named a semi-finalist in two national playwriting competitions, had been given a reading at Manhattan Theatre Club Studios and was selected for a developmental workshop at Manhattan Theatre Source. It seemed as if the play was destined for a world premiere and yet the playwright struggled to find anyone who wanted to produce it, despite the accolades and preliminary interest from some theaters.

As part of ArtWeek, a statewide celebration of the arts, Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater presents readings of new work by two Cape playwrights: The House of Nunzio by Patrick Riviere at 2 p.m. on April 28, and Meridian Summer by Candace Perry at 3 p.m. on May 5.  Both staged readings are free and open to the public. Experience the process of taking a new work off the page with a staged reading of new works in development. Following the reading, the playwrights will share the history of the plays and their evolutions. Audience members will have an opportunity to offer their feedback to the playwrights, actors and directors.
