That reminds me, anyone know what those Pretty Woman towels were about? At least, I think there were towels. They were bundled with other stuff in a pouch at more than one table.

All I saw from Head Over Heels was pink luggage tags.

I vaguely remember King Kong heavy duty tote bags but like the year I saw those Bright Star luggage bags, I'm not that much of a troll.

Are shows like The Cher Show, The Band's Visit, Anastasia, etc. just sending their merch out on tour? Or do you think it just might take a year or more to show up at the Flea?

I saw signed Cher Show posters at I believe the Dancers over 40 table. No idea how much they were early in the day, but were $20 at 5:30.

A few years ago I got a can of peas that were used as a part of the set for Martin McDonagh’s play ‘The Cripple of Inishmaan’ starring Daniel Radcliffe. I say ‘got’ instead of ‘bought’ because the woman at the table was so confused as to why I was interested in a can of peas that she let me have it for free, and then took a picture of me with it. It had a custom label for the production that said “Manufactured by M.M.” for Martin McDonagh.

Did anyone feel that the Flea was overpriced this year? Last year I bought cast-signed playbills for as little as $10, today the same tables asked for $30 and $60. I felt sorry for Roundabout’s table because it appeared that they hadn’t sold much of anything. I bought a Bernhardt/Hamlet mug and was surprised that it was $15.

My finds for anyone who’s interested:
- 2 large signs from the Delacorte Theater (“Bar” and “Prohibited”)
- Angels in America Opening Night tote bag and Tony Packet
- To Kill A Mockingbird Tony Book
- Vintage Shakespeare in the Park usher pin
- Berthardt/Hamlet mug
- Casa Valentina script signed by Joe Mantello
- Opening night gift from “Apologia”
- Opening night gift from “Bernhardt/Hamlet” (a beautiful card that unfolds and shows the set design sketches)
- Alli Mauzy signed “Wicked” dressing room card (love Wicked and never bought anything from their booth before so I’m happy)
- Some vintage playbills

It seemed that almost every table had a stack of signed “Cher Show” posters for around $25 but for the entire day, I never saw any of the thousand or so of them, that was signed by Stephanie J. Block.

I had a pretty good year this year! I managed to keep my haul under $100, and enjoyed the hunt - still on the lookout for my elusive In The Next Room window card, but I figure the universe has to be in my favor one of these years.

Agreed to those talking about the crowds at Curtain Call - crowds almost never bother me (I live in Midtown) but I had to leave the booth and take breaks several times because the crush was just too much. They really need to give the Curtain Call area more space - 2 seperate tables instead of crunching them all into one space?

My haul this year for those who are interested -

* The Who’s Tommy windowcard post Tony wins
* Daddy Long Legs off Broadway windowcard
* Anastasia Broadway windowcard (for @cindy.hall.315428)
* Anastasia replacement cast poster
* Falsettos revival Full Cast Signed windowcard
* The King and I Lincoln Center revival Full Cast Signed windowcard
* Rockers on Broadway 2018 Benefit poster
* Titanic 1997 sweatshirt

* The Gin Game baseball cap

* 100 Poems by Women anthology
* The Tony Award anthology (published in 1994)
* The Ferryman Tony Voter book
* The Ferryman Press Script
* South Pacific 2008 program

Yep none were signed by Block so essentially they are worthless to a hardcore collector. Without her signature they should have gone for $10 or $20. I also did an eye roll at the price on olivos hanky.

I always thought the purpose of a flea market was to move merchandise so they don’t have to lug it back. Prices were steep. I guess they rather that stuff collect dust. I’ve never seen more garbage in my life and I mean garbage. Items that were broken, dirty, dusty, cracked frames and sun damaged. I won’t be back. Roundabout was insane charging $15 for closed show mugs.

What an odd thing to do, to have everyone but Block sign them. People were so excited to get them for so cheap and I even told a few people and their excitement just deflated in front of my eyes. One guy tried to tell me she signed all of them and I said “Dude, she didn’t. Her signature takes up half the poster and is dramatic as hell, I’d know if it was here” and he still tried to argue and tell people she was there. But whatever.

I’m just so sick of the people at the tables acting like the merch they’re trying to move was once kissed by Christ. The point of the day is to make money for charity. You’ll make that money by not charging $200 for a poster but by asking everyone to spend a few minutes longer signing more and then selling them for $50, then you won’t have boxes of things to lug back at the end of the day. People want “Hadestown” posters so make them affordable so people can have them and give you money. This is so not rocket science.

The closed show table was crazy and people didn’t move, they just stood there. I think Be More Chill could’ve had its own table as the majority of the stuff there was from that show. I got there at 9:45 and was out by 10:30. I agree the Moulin Rouge table was a let down. They had Olivio’s glove for $500 early in the day too. I asked about signed posters and they said they wouldn’t be having any. I too saw signed Cher Show posters everywhere and I can tell u even the ones sold during BCEFA collections weren’t complete casts- I collect and Emily Skinner was kind enough to sign mine after I left it with a note at the stage door- she was not on it nor were maybe 4 ensemble members which I also got. Anyway, my haul was tiny- a Hadestown cast poster, which was only $150 when the day started, an opening night Angels in America tote which was priced too high at $25, but I love the show, I also got a Prom button set for $5, both at the Curtain Call table, a Prom Pride Playbill for $3 and a Moulin Rouge Pride shirt for $16. Hoping next year may be better, it was underwhelming, but that is always reflected by the season.

First year at the flea market and was underwhelmed. Not sure if it's because I'm not super into this season + not as enamored with the idea of taking part of a production home with me as I used to be, but didn't come across much that caught my eye. I went at about 4 so I'm sure I missed a lot of cool stuff. Lots of booths were selling cups and other trinkets for $1-5, though all of the signed playbills and posters were still wayyy overpriced. Picked up a free tin of Kiss Me, Kate mints and a State Fair t shirt from some unknown production (didn't have the '96 Broadway or '33 film artwork). I'd go again next year, but probably in the morning just to check out the hot ticket items!

Totally agree Jordan! It's funny,I always look forward to it,but honestly the prices on some stuff is nuts, a lot of it is crap, people are rude. It's supposed to be a flea market, but some of the prices were the same as they were when the shows were still open, which was years ago.

This year had a quite disappointing selection and prices. Everything felt either expensive, or just not worth the hassle. I was at Curtain Calls opening, and I've never encountered people so rude. I had to yell at people to move so a short woman could leave the crown, I couldn't move, and I was simply being pushed everywhere for making it to the from line. The prices on be more chill stuff was ridiculous, even if I'm not interested, the people who bought the stuff must've been out of their minds. I got the following:

- Angels in America display wings (?? idk they're super pretty)
- Be More Chill mini solo shot glass and Troy cast slide (the only cheap things from that show for a friend)
- Newsies full signed tour playbill
- Newsies coloring book pages signed
- Opening Night Beetlejuice and Mean Girls
- Newsies movie premiere tickets set of four
- Great Comet at the ART and closing flyers
- Mean Girls fan (free)
- BCEFA Tote Bag

I was looking for clothing items and merch more than playbills this year, but the selection was simply disappointing. My friend did find awesome dance shoes though, and she also found dogfight! I guess it depended on when you arrived. I came at 9:30, she came at 9.

I also was underwhelmed this year. Got there at 9:30 and was able to get some good playbills I’ve been wanting. But beyond that was disappointed.

What was at the curtain call table right when it opened?

I was also shocked at how many booths, not only had ridiculous prices, but were so unwavering. I came back at like 5 and couldn’t believe how many booths didn’t lower the prices. Funny to see a booth charge $40 for an item and an adjacent booth charging $5 for the same thing.

I wish the whole street was blocked off. Would’ve helped with crowd control.

This was my first BCEFA Flea, and it was exactly what I was expecting. I got there at noon, so I didn't expect much in terms of like...holy grail items. Honestly the Mean Girls and Hadestown tables were the best to walk by. When I got there Hadestown was pimping a photo holding their Tony for $20, which is definitely a decent donation idea. I just wish that they'd just...I dunno moved the tables a bit farther apart for slightly more wiggle room? Admittedly I didn't go early so the side of the crowd was expected, I just didn't really consider how many people would just plant where they stood on the sidewalk.

I walked away with a signed window card for The Crucible (which was literally being discounted from $75 to $50 as I was deciding) and a ribbon pin ($1).

This year was my third visit to the flea market. Not my favorite experience of the three, but I got the most and best merchandise yet. I agree about the pricing and inflexibility of certain tables to haggle. I actually had a table turn down a $150 offer for a signed windowcard at 6:15pm because they said they'd just bring it back next year and try again for a higher price. OK... For that price maybe donate it to the silent auction?

Nevertheless, I did end up with a lot of great things:

- Cast-signed Oklahoma windowcard ($50)

- Tony voter books from Waverly GalleryThree Tall WomenShuffle AlongDoll's House Part 2, To Kill a Mockingbird, a Boys in the Band program,  ($2/each)

- Sweat opening night drinking glasses from Off-Broadway and Broadway runs ($1/each) and a set of opening-night coasters ($5)

- Three Tall WomenGentleman's Guide mugs ($2-3/each) and a King Lear water bottle ($5)

- An opening-night Sweeney Todd playbill and an original She Loves Me playbill ($3/each)

And my favorite, most bizarre find: the tarp from a Hello, Dolly! barricade for $1.

I love the event and I'll continue to go, but I agree they really need to get a better handle on their pricing. Also, there were tables with plenty of merchandise left to sell that said they had to close by 6:00 even though the official hours go until 7:00?
