How do you feel about theatre-goers who rush the same show constantly? Jul 14

If they are waiting and paying like everyone else, who cares? Does it suck for others waiting who don't get one? Of course, but they know going in that it isn't guaranteed. And unless they police the line every day for repeat visitors, they are going to have a hard time finding a real case.
I think it only becomes an issue if the person becomes demanding for things they are not entitled to or starts putting other people in danger.

A coworker of mine didn't get what I meant by seeing out of town tryouts for potential Broadway shows. I think she thought I was going to watch people audition for Jagged Little Pill and Moulin Rouge until I explained it.
And another one kept bringing up the movie cast of West Side Story when I mentioned seeing a panel at BroadwayCon that had cast members from the original Broadway production. Not the same at all.

There was a Twitter account called @UsherStrugs. They haven't posted anything in awhile though. The stuff I would read there reminded me a bit of what I deal with in retail. Obviously things may be different based on job duties. But, it's all customer service. It still amazes me how people look down on these as being poor jobs for people to have. But, I'm sure if nobody did these jobs and patrons were left on their own, some would get really angry. And even when they are helped, some are still a

I'm old enough to be the (young) mom of most of the attendees, but I've been to all three. When they moved to the Javits, it was much more manageable and not like being surrounded by the people you avoid in a rush line all day.
The smaller panels are much more engaging than the splashy ones on the mainstage, IMO, and you COULD compare it to BookCon, but it's probably more

I went years ago. It gets crowded. Basically, It's a pet adoption event. Groups will bring the pets they have for adoption and people can walk around to those areas. At some point, probably after the matinees around 4-4:30, they start presenting pets on stage. This is where the Broadway folks come in. And as for sale items, they have a shirt and maybe a few other small items. This is definitely not like the flea market, except for crowds.

I went to a Cirque Du Soleil show tonight and hate that they encourage people to take photos and film it. Fortunately it was not a huge issue because I know I would not have been able to complain to an usher.
But, I ended up near the people who were late, got up a million times, and talked in full volume. The 1 child said he wanted to go home before it was over. Oh, and they did leave before curtain call. I wished they left sooner with all of their trips to get food.

I saw this tonight. It definitely was enjoyable and I do hope for it to come to Broadway, but it definitely needs some work. It was just difficult with how everything was supposed to fit together and who is supposed to be the star of the show.
The cast is great though.

You can follow her on Twitter at BroadwayGirlNYC, if you aren't already. Yes, she is extremely enthusiastic about all things theater. Not that It's a bad thing. But, I think that certainly helps with her interviewing since she really cares about what they're talking about. She also has been part of programming at Broadwaycon.
Have you ever done any On Location tours? It takes you around to places where they filmed tv shows and movies. They do specific tours for Gossip Girl and Sex and the City if you like those shows. I just did the general one. It was a lot of fun. I've booked the one in Boston when I'm there next. And the general tour in NYC is done by bus, with some hop offs at places the bus can't easily get into. So, it is minimal with standing outside for too long.

I'm basically 34. My birthday is tomorrow. I live in northwest New Jersey. I work in retail doing ad related stuff for the store I work in. I consider myself more of more of a theatre fan than anything. I have done some acting, but definitely less than most people who are doing it for a career. I can act and dance a little. I'm a terrible singer. I also identify as biromantic asexual.

I finally got my tickets straightened out. Facebook was definitely the way to go for contacting them. Was able to get my same seat again for an August performance.

I know she does a lot of teaching. No idea if that's a side thing if not doing shows or music or a main thing.
I agree that the 1 star reviews and threats are not nice for the theatre. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they did not come up with the new performance schedule. Obviously whatever happened is on the theatre owners. But, I would definitely put the producers more at fault for the random cancellations or time changes.
I messaged them through Facebook and am waiting for a response. But, I bet it won't be until tomorrow.

I may have to try to go in August sometime instead for a weekend. This is absolutely insane. I understand wanting to make up to those going between June 27th & July 10th. But, this new schedule is making it so much worse for more people.

They cancelled the performance on July 11th. That makes me so angry because it starts the day before and is playing the other days I'm in Boston. But, I already have tickets to other things. Does anyone know if A.R.T would allow me to do a performance exchange?
What do you give up to afford Broadway? Jun 9

Something else I just remembered is not spending a ton of money on vacations. Like I do go away sometimes, but it isn't mandatory for me. And I try to keep things inexpensive. I know people who go on cruises or an expensive trip out of the country or to Disney World every year. Me, I'm taking a bus back up to Boston and staying in a hostel to see more theatre this year.

I also don't spend a lot of money on going out or buying brand new things. Like I don't need the latest or most expensive things. I do have a car because of where I live, but it's mostly for getting to work and if I need to run errands. I always buy used and never have had a very expensive car.
It also helps that I work for a retailer of closeout items. The stuff is less expensive than at most other stores, plus I also get an employee discount.
