CoolKids, dat is de naam van de nieuwe jongerengroep waarmee het Gentse productiehuis Marmalade zijn eerste ambitieuze stappen in de muziekwereld zet. CoolKids is een groep enthousiaste en getalenteerde jongeren die frisse en hippe Nederlandstalige muziek zullen brengen: Muziek voor jongeren door jongeren. De groep bestaat uit 20 jongens en meisjes tussen 12 en 18 jaar. Ze brengen eigentijdse nummers en vertrekken daarbij vanuit hun eigen leefwereld.

Twintig jaar na de laatste voorstellingen In Belgie en bijna veertig jaar na de wereldpremiere in Parijs, keert de musical aller musicals terug naar ons land. Music Hall presenteert i.s.m. Cityprod een grootse, semiconcertante uitvoering van 'Les Miserables' op 22 en 23 maart 2019 in Vorst Nationaal. 'Les Miserables en Concert', naar de roman van Victor Hugo, is een adembenemende concertbeleving van 's werelds meest populaire musical. 28 topzangers en -zangeressen, ondersteund door een groot symfonisch orkest, brengen de prachtige muziek van componist Claude-Michel Schonberg tot leven als nooit tevoren. Indrukwekkende projecties en verbluffende lichteffecten vormen de decors. Onze eigen Hans Peter Janssens, de Valjean aller Valjeans, mag uiteraard ook niet ontbreken op het podium in Vorst Nationaal. Opera Vlaanderen will create a new opera Les Bienveillantes based on the international bestseller by Jonathan Littell and none other than Benjamin Millepied will create his first full length ballet for Royal Ballet Flanders. Both projects are shortlisted for a Fedora-prize. It will be announced later this afternoon in Paris.

High time to repair this oversight, because not only is this work, alongside La Voix humaine, the most famous opera by Francis Poulenc (1899-1963), it ranks among the most celebrated works of the whole twentieth century.
