Community Theatre is a national treasure and no one recognizes this more than Performing Arts at the Community College of Baltimore County. The Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) knows this too and has been a mainstay in providing additional aid to community theatres such as Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre and the Dundalk Community Theatre, both in residence at CCBC. This year, Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre was awarded $8,000 for its summer theater productions and the Dundalk Community Theatre will receive $5,191 to offset the costs of producing upcoming 2016 shows and lowering ticket prices for community residents.

August Wilson's FENCES Inspires Collaboration Between Evertman Theatre and Afro American Newspaper Archives

Everyman Theatre is pleased to announce a special exhibition that will take place at the theatre in conjunction with the current production of August Wilson's Fences. Within Our Gates will examine the lives of African Americans in Baltimore from 1950 to 1965 (the time period of Fences) by using pictures and reprints from The Afro American Newspaper Archives. The exhibition will debut on Saturday, November 7th prior to World of the Play, a panel discussion series that discusses the topics and themes of the play.

Back by popular demand, THE BOOK OF MORMON, which played a record breaking two week run in 2014, is pleased to announce a lottery ticket policy for the National Tour, which begins November 3, 2015 at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore and plays a limited two week engagement through November 15, 2015. In Baltimore, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the box office, making a limited number of tickets available at $25 a piece.
