The Baltimore Mandolin Orchestra brings its 101st season to Havre de Grace with a special performance at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Under the direction of Joel Michael-Schwartz, the ensemble will present an eclectic program of classical works, marches, rags, concert dances, popular tunes, and original compositions written for mandolin orchestra. Founded in 1924, Baltimore’s “other” orchestra continues a rich American tradition, performing on an array of instruments—from ornate bowl-back mandolins to mandocellos and mandobass—in the historic riverside church overlooking the Susquehanna.
