Mozart in Motion

Divertimento No. 15 by George Balanchine
Petite Mort by Ji?í Kylián
Sechs Tänze by Ji?í Kylián

Mozart in Motion includes three contrasting works by dance icons Ji?í Kyliánand George Balanchine. Kylián combines physical comedy with powdered wigs and dry wit in Sechs Tanze, while his Petite Mort integrates fencing foils and black silks with powerful athleticism and musicality. Hailed by The New York Times as "the most sublime choreography ever made to music by Mozart," Balanchine's Divertimento No. 15 fittingly captures Mozart's refined spirit of gentility.

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre has built a legacy of excellence and innovation since 1969. Its eclectic style and vibrant energy has been shaped by several distinguished artistic directors over nearly five decades including New York City Ballet Principal Dancer Patricia Wilde and currently, former American Ballet Theatre ballet master and principal dancer Terrence S. Orr. The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, renowned for its artistic excellence and adventurous programming is widely regarded as one of the finest chamber orchestras in the world.
