Filmmaker Buddy Hatton will give audience members "behind-the-scenes" secrets when he hosts the Alden Theatre's showing of his film "In Search of Shangri-La" at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25. Tickets are $10/$8 for McLean tax district residents. The Alden Theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

Filmgoers will journey to Southwest China with Hatton on his quest for the legendary Utopia of Shangri-La. A Tibetan wording meaning "land of sacredness and peace," Shangri-La was made famous by James Hilton's Lost Horizon. Hatton captures on film the areas thought by Hilton scholars to be the inspiration for one of the world's greatest adventure stories. During this journey on film, Hatton takes the audience to places like Guilin, Hong Kong, Dali, and of course, Shangri-La (aka Zhongdian). With his love for people and excitement in discovering new places, this talented cinematographer brings the screen to life during this fabulous adventure in Asia.
