Film Takes Center Stage at Festival O22

On the heels of a successful opening weekend and rave reviews for live productions of Rossini's Otello and Toshio Hosokawa's The Raven, Opera Philadelphia's Festival O continues this week with the first Opera on Film series, featuring more than 30 cinematic operas presented in 12 screenings at the Philadelphia Film Center.

On July 20th, 2020, composer Gordon Getty's new opera Goodbye, Mr. Chips would have had its world premiere at Festival Napa Valley. But like so many other events, it became a casualty of COVID.

Filmmaker Buddy Hatton will give audience members 'behind-the-scenes' secrets when he hosts the Alden Theatre's showing of his film 'In Search of Shangri-La' at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25. Tickets are $10/$8 for McLean tax district residents. The Alden Theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.
