The Shaw Festival continues to launch its 2016 season with a fresh take on another classic - this time Anton Chekov's UNCLE VANYA. This moving dramedy explores family harmony and dysfunction with budding loyalties and conflicting love. Jackie Maxwell, outgoing artistic director at the Shaw Festival brings to life this new adaptation by Annie Baker. It's a crisp translation with contemporary overtones that brings this Chekov classic to the new age. Neil Barclay stars as the title role and leads a talented ensemble including Donna Belleville, Kate Besworth, James Daly, Sharry Flett, Marla McLean, Patrick McManus, Peter Millard, Moya O'Connell and David Schurmann. Totem Pole Playhouse, Pennsylvania's premiere summer theater, located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA, has announced that the opening night performance of the first play in the theatre's four-show subscription series, Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, will serve as a fundraiser for the Central Pennsylvania Animal Alliance. CPAA is a charitable organization composed of individuals and animal rescue organizations and shelters working together to end the killing of cats and dogs as the means of controlling animal population. This summer The Farm Theater is pleased to present Padraic Lillis' solo show, Hope You Get to Eleven, or What Are We Going to Do About Sally?, directed byScott Illingworth and presented as part of the 8th Annual Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. Performances will be on June 23 at 7:30pm, June 25 at 5pm, June 29 at 7:30pm, and July 3 at 4:30pm at The Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery).
