The Year of Magical Thinking will star stage, movie and television veteran actor Linda Purl. Adapted for the stage by Joan Didion from her memoir, The Year of Magical Thinking is both a love letter to her daughter, who died just before the book was published in 2005, and a tribute to an extraordinary marriage Directed by Jenny Sullivan, this stunning tour-de-force one-woman show will be the multi-talented Ms. Purl's first appearance at the Laguna Playhouse. Didion's piece is a haunting and lyrical story of one woman coming to grips with loss, laced with Joan Didion's particular brand of humor and wit, the The New York Times called the play "moving and elegiac."

THE BOOK OF MORMON features book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. Parker and Stone are the four-time Emmy Award-winning creators of the landmark animated series, 'South Park.' Tony Award-winner Lopez is co-creator of the long-running hit musical comedy, Avenue Q. The musical is choreographed by Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw (Monty Python's Spamalot, The Drowsy Chaperone) and is directed by Nicholaw and Parker. THE BOOK OF MORMON is the winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score (Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, Matt Stone), Best Book (Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, Matt Stone), Best Direction (Casey Nicholaw, Trey Parker), Best Featured Actress (Nikki M. James), Best Scenic Design (Scott Pask), Best Lighting Design (Brian MacDevitt), Best Sound Design (Brian Ronan) and Best Orchestrations (Larry Hochman, Stephen Oremus); the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical; five Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical, the 2011 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album; four Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Best Musical, and the Drama League Award for Best Musical. One of the most beloved French operas, Jules Massenet's Thais tells the tale of the most beautiful courtesan in Alexandria, who holds an entire city in her thrall as she embraces life's most sensual delights. One man alone, the monk Athanael, weeps for her sins, but his pilgrimage to save the sinner's soul becomes a tortured journey of erotic obsession. As seducer transforms into saint, the holy man falls victim to his own passions. Internationally acclaimed soprano Nino Machaidze stars as Thais alongside the incomparable Placido Domingo as Athanael.

They banned it in Paris. But that was in 1664. Three hundred years later, it would be the play to put SCR on the map. Now, celebrate the landmark 50th Season with a revival of this classic comedy about the man who gave the word "hypocrite" a bad reputation. A family watches in astonishment as the head of the household falls under Tartuffe's spell. While they scheme to get rid of the false prophet, he does himself in, proving that when your thoughts are supposed to be turned heavenward, it's a good idea not to reveal earthly desires, especially when someone is hiding in the closet-or under the table.

Jack sends the Giant back up the beanstalk (which he hasn't even planted yet). Chickens can't wait for their cues. The audience can't wait to applaud-and you'll never want it to end.
