Verizon Is Top Telecommunications Company in Fortune Magazine's 2013 List of World's Most Admired Companies

Fortune magazine has ranked Verizon No. 1 in the telecommunications sector of the publication's 2013 list of the World's Most Admired Companies. This is the second consecutive year Verizon has received the top ranking, and the third time in four years.

Verizon received the top ranking in four out of nine reputation categories: innovation, social responsibility, quality of management and quality of products/services. Fortune's Most Admired Companies list is based on surveys of executives, directors and analysts who were asked to rate companies in their own industry.

"Using the power of our technology to address the world's biggest challenges and improve the lives of our customers and communities is at the very core of who we are as a company," said Randy Milch, executive vice president - public policy and general counsel at Verizon. "We're honored again to see these efforts recognized and admired by our industry peers and competitors."

Verizon prides itself on having a positive corporate reputation not only as a leader in mobility, broadband and global connectivity, but as a positive force in the communities it serves. Through the company's Shared Success strategy, Verizon innovation is bringing Powerful Answers to the problems in healthcare delivery, energy efficiency and education confronting our communities.
