The National Portrait Gallery Starts Accepting Entries for the OUTWIN BOOCHEVER PORTRAIT COMPETITION Today
Get ready for a big announcement: the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallerywill begin accepting entries for the next "Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition" today, Aug. 1!
The juried competition is open to artists 18 and over to submit portraits created after Jan. 1, 2013, in any visual medium including painting, drawing, sculpture, prints, photography, textiles, performance and digital media.
The winner will receive a cash award of $25,000 as well as the opportunity for a separate commission for the Portrait Gallery's collection.
Entries may be submitted online starting Aug. 1. The exhibition finalists will be presented in 2016.
