Jim Henson's Dinosaur Train Live: Buddy's Big Adventure brings to life the beloved stars of the hit Emmy Award nominated PBS KIDS series Dinosaur Train for Philadelphia debut performance in Merriam Theater, Saturday-Sunday, January 18-19, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., as part of a 60-city U.S. tour. From giant King to teeny Tiny, all of the Dinosaur Train friends are brought to life in an original musical story specially adapted for a live stage production.

Dinosaur Train Live: Buddy's Big Adventure is an upbeat interactive, multi-media family-friendly experience with Buddy, Tiny, King, Don and more Dinosaur Train characters exploring the Mesozoic age, a time when dinosaurs roamed the earth . . . and rode in trains.

Tickets are available from $15 to $65 at kimmelcenter.org, 215-893-1999, or at the KimMel Center Box Office located on Broad and Spruce streets, Philadelphia, Pa. (open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., later on performance evenings).

Young fans will be engaged through music and laughter with Mr. Conductor on board to keep things on track as the Pteranodon family sets out on a new adventure. Little Buddy is a proud Tyrannosaurus Rex living happily in the Pteranodon family nest. But, what exactly makes Buddy a part of this family and just what will happen when he gets bigger and can't fit in the nest anymore? Buddy wants to know, so the Pteranodons decide to hop aboard the one and only Dinosaur Train and set off on an adventure across the Mesozoic to take Buddy to see his good friend King Cryolophosaurus. King's giving a big concert in Troodon Town and will be a great pal for Buddy to talk to and figure it all out. But, oh no, King is missing! Will Buddy and the gang be able to find him in time for his concert? Just why is King hiding anyway? And will Buddy discover what makes him special and such an important part of the Pteranodon family?

The production includes lush animation styled vegetation, large rear projection video screens to create motion driven backgrounds and the Dinosaur Train itself makes an appearance. The show also uses combinations of hybrid walk-around/puppeteered costume characters, forced perspective techniques for the larger dinosaur friends, and several additional types of shadow, mechanical, and black light puppetry for special effects, for a larger than life super star dinosaur adventure.

"This will absolutely be a 'wow' show for kids where they can feel like they've been transported to Buddy's amazing world and can go on an adventure with him and his friends. It will be chocked full of music, laughs and effects that families will love experiencing together. We hope kids will be having such a great time they won't even realize all of the science concepts they're learning!" - John Tartaglia (Director, Producer) and Michael Shawn Lewis (Producer, Co-Creator)
