In honor of what is usually Tony Sunday, the American Theatre Wing is partnering with BroadwayHD in making the Wing’s Centennial Concert that celebrates the theatre community available to all viewers beyond the paywall from June 13-19, while raising awareness for the Wing’s programming.

Bard SummerScape today announced casting for Most Happy in Concert, a setting of Frank Loesser’s songs for The Most Happy Fella from director Daniel Fish and arrangers Daniel Kluger and Nathan Koci, who previously collaborated on the Tony Award-winning production of Oklahoma! that originated at Bard SummerScape in 2015.

Drawing inspiration from classic surreal, expressionist films by Ingmar Bergman and Jean Cocteau, Edward II will be live on Wednesday 9 June at 7pm BST, and available on catch-up thereafter. The Show Must Go Online's Month of Marlowe comes after the collective performed the entirety of William Shakespeare's First Folio in weekly livestreamed readings over 36 consecutive weeks last year.

 Irish Repertory Theatre announced today three Performance on Screen digital productions for their Summer 2021 season. Ghosting, by Anne O’Riordan and Jamie Beamish and directed for streaming by Jamie Beamish, will premiere on Tuesday June 22, 2021. The production, starring Anne O’Riordan, will run through Sunday July 4, 2021. 

Ars Nova has announced The CAMP Bonfire Series, a four night festival of eight new comedy works. Running online June 28–July 1 on Ars Nova Supra, The CAMP Bonfire Series is the culmination of six months of peer support and artistic feedback facilitated by Mahayla Laurence and Matt Gehring who direct CAMP, Ars Nova’s new development program for early career comedy artists.

The Civilians will present the tenth annual R&D Group FINDINGS Series. The R&D Group is comprised of writers, composers, and directors who worked with the Civilians for nine months to develop seven original pieces of theater through the creative investigation of a pre-selected subject.

The American Theatre Wing has announced a brand-new season of its entirely revamped Master Class Series. The new line-up of completely free, interactive sessions will feature Pulitzer prize and Obie Award-winning playwright, composer, and lyricist Michael R. Jackson, 6-time Tony Award-winning Lighting Designer Natasha Katz, and more.

Broadway, regional, community theatres and most schools in the country were required to shut down all theatre and music programming during the pandemic, Mary McDowell Friends Upper School in Brooklyn Heights had other ideas.

The show, based on Dean Grossi’s real life experience, is an hour-long dramedy about Izzy, a “not deaf enough” millennial, who is navigating adulthood and a chaotic love life, all while learning to embrace her disability in 2007 Los Angeles.
