2025 AWARDS SEASON

The 2019 theatre awards season is quickly approaching, and keeping track of all of the important dates for the many ceremonies and their corresponding nomination announcements is no easy feat. Stay up to date on all the need-to-know facts with BroadwayWorld's Awards Season Calendar below!

In just 100 days, The American Theatre Wing will present the 73rd Annual Tony Awards, which are set to air on the CBS Television Network on Sunday, June 9, 2019 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT).

Details were announced today for the 34th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts, beginning at 7:00pm EST. The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League by special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation. Additional support is provided by TDF.

It has just been announced that the 64th annual Drama Desk Awards will take place on June 2, 2019 at 8:00p.m. at The Town Hall, presented by Broadway Brands.

Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the second time this season and confirmed the eligibility status of ten Broadway productions for the 2019 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards.

The 3rd annual Chita Rivera Awards will take place on Sunday, May 19 at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts

The American Theatre Wing and The Village Voice announce that the 64th Annual Obie Awards will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at Terminal 5 (610 West 56th Street). Additional information will be announced shortly.

Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the first time this season and confirmed the eligibility status of seven Broadway productions for the 2019 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2018-2019 season to decide the eligibility for the 73rd Annual Tony Awards.

The Jimmy Awards is pleased to announce the presenters for the 10th annual awards ceremony on Monday, June 25th at 7:30PM at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan.

The Off Broadway Alliance, an organization of Off-Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents, and marketing professionals, just presented the 8th Annual Off-Broadway Alliance Awards, honoring commercial and not-for-profit productions that opened Off-Broadway during the 2017-2018 season. Winners included: Desperate Measures (Best New Musical), Transfers (Best New Play), The Government Inspector (Best Revival), KPOP (Best Unique Theatrical Experience), Billy Crudup, Harry Clarke (Best Solo Performance), Polka Dots: The Cool Kids Musical(Best Family Show).

Stars including Nathan Lane, Laurie Metcalf, Caissie Levy, Zachary Quinto, Gavin Creel and more packed into the legendary Cafe Carlyle to celebrate a successful Tonys and another tremendous Broadway season.

One of the unsung heroes of SpongeBob SquarePants' success on Broadway is the show's foley artist Mike Dobson. Providing whimsical sound effects to the zany action in Bikini Bottom, Dobson helps transport the audience at the Palace Theatre to the incredible world created by Tina Landau and her team.
