The annual Broadway League Awards, honoring excellence and achievement for Touring Broadway, were announced today during the Broadway League's 2019 Spring Road Conference. First presented in 1992, the Broadway League Awards recognize the contributions of those who have displayed exemplary service to the Broadway industry and are considered innovators of their craft.

It was announced today that The Radio City Rockettes will open this year's Chita Rivera Awards with a show stopping performance of 'New York, New York.' The Rockettes history with Chita Rivera dates back more than 30 years when the renowned precision dance company performed alongside Rivera in the 1988 tour of Can-Can. 

'I think it's a brilliant play. I think it's a daring play. I think everyone joined it because we wanted to be part of bringing this unique, odd, brilliant American voice to Broadway,' says director George C. Wolfe about Gary. He tells us more about what his Tony nomination means to him!
