It's time for a move! A change! Something new and exciting. Five years ago On Broadway relocated from it's famous corner stand in Green Point to plusher bigger premises in Shortmarket Street, Cape Town. And now time has come for another change.
When we discovered that the New Space Theatre premises on Long Street were ‘up for grabs', we jumped at the opportunity to change a little and expand. In Green Point we seated 120, in Shortmarket Street we seat 150 and at the new venue we will be able to seat up to 200 people in the theatre.
The idea of On Broadway has always been ‘your one-stop entertainment zone'. This idea remains firmly in place but with added advantages. The restaurant and theatre will run as two separate entities, enabling patrons to choose between dinner and theatre, just dinner or just theatre. It also gives the patrons the opportunity to enjoy their favourite On Broadway meals at lunchtime and enjoy our delicious new breakfast menu. Our menu will keep the good old favourites and we will be able to add some additional delicacies. Patrons will also have a choice between three restaurants within the theatre complex.
The theatre itself will keep it's intimate cosy feel and On Broadway's policy of providing a platform for up and coming and established artistes to experiment, showcase and develop their works will remain. This new venue will have state of the art sound, lighting and AV equipment enabling us to provide locals and tourists with more than just theatre. On Broadway promises to still provide top class entertainment by some of South Africa's most well-loved artistes as well as introducing new young talent.
We will be relocating as of 07th June 2010.
What better address for one of Cape Town's top venues than 44 LONG STREET.
