TheaterWorksUSA's world premiere of the musical adaptation of Cat Kid Comic Club series by Dav Pilkey opens today, Sunday, July 30, at 3 PM. The limited run is written by the award-winning team of Kevin Del Aguila (book and lyrics) and Brad Alexander(music), with direction and choreography by Marlo Hunter and musical direction by Paul Staroba, and runs through August 27, 2023 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. La Jolla Playhouse presents the world-premiere production of Miss You Like Hell, book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner Quiara Alegria Hudes (In the Heights, Water by the Spoonful), music and lyrics by acclaimed singer/songwriter Erin McKeown, directed by Lear deBessonet (Public Theatre's The Odyssey) and choreographed by Danny Mefford(Broadway's Fun Home).

The Human Race launches its 2015-2016 Eichelberger Loft Season with the smash hit THE FULL MONTY: THE BROADWAY MUSICAL. With a book by Tony Award winnerTerrence McNally and music and lyrics by Drama Desk Award winner David Yazbek, the hilarious and heartwarming story follows six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers who, in need of quick cash and low on prospects, come up with the outrageous idea to put on a strip act after seeing the local women's wild enthusiasm for touring Chippendales dancers. Opening night is tomorrow, September 11. Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances. Not all news was good though, as we also suffered a loss of an incredible amount of talent. Below, BroadwayWorld sends a fond farewell to those who passed away in 2014.

Fifteen years after its Broadway debut, Steel Pier, a Kander and Ebb musical, premieres in Europe this autumn at the Union Theatre, London. Following the recent success of their critically acclaimed revival of Rent at the Greenwich Theatre, Paul Taylor-Mills and Richard Jones collaborate once again to premiere this production in London. RENT, written by Jonathan Larson, will be performed at the Hollywood Bowl for three performances only, Friday and Saturday August 6 and 7 at 8:30pm, and Sunday August 8 at 7:30pm. Neil Patrick Harris will direct the production, with musical direction by Tim Weil and choreography by Jamal Sims. The cast includes Skylar Astin, Wayne Brady, Vanessa Hudgens, Telly Leung, Collins Pennie, Nicole Scherzinger, Tracie Thoms, and Aaron Tveit.

Freddie Company in association with TKO Entertainment proudly presents the U.S. Premiere of the Japanese musical Freddie the Leaf, written and directed by Takashi Inuishi, conceived by Dr. Shigeaki Hinohara, with music and lyrics by Shoichi Tama and starring popular Japanese film actor, Akira Takarada, and a cast of 21 Japanese teens and children. Freddie the Leaf runs from August 13 - 15, 2010 in a limited engagement at John Jay College's Gerald W. Lynch Theater, located at 899 Tenth Avenue, between 58 and 59 Streets, in NYC.

Last night at CHICAGO, the Tony winning hit musical celebrated a big milestone -- the production played its 5,125th performance, which made it the seventh-longest running show in Broadway history! The previous record-holder was 'Rent,' with 5,125 performances.
