Based on Ron Chernow's 2004 biographical novel titled Alexander Hamilton, the musical, Hamilton, tells the true story of one of America's Founding Fathers, Alexander Hamilton. An immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation's first Treasury Secretary.

Lin-Manuel Miranda is returning to his lead role as Alexander Hamilton for 24 performances only when he brings HAMILTON to Puerto Rico January 8-27, 2019. This is the first, and only, scheduled time he will return to the role since leaving the original Broadway cast in 2016.

In a new video filmed backstage at the Broadway hit Hamilton, and posted on Twitter, the cast is urging people to get out and vote.

According to the Wall Street Journal, a bidding war is underway for the rights to a big screen version of the Broadway hit.
