Rehearsal photos have been released for the world premiere of the new musical comedy The Rivals at Bristol Riverside Theatre. Based on the famously funny farce about Mrs. Malaprop, The Rivals features book and lyrics by two-time Tony nominee Peter Kellogg (Anna Karenina), and music by two-time Richard Rodgers Award-winner Stephen Weiner (The Honeymooners). The production will run from October 30 to November 18, 2018, with opening night set for Thursday, November 1.

Casting has been confirmed for Proof at the Hope Mill Theatre, by the Pulitzer Drama Prize winning playwright David Auburn. Having produced ten musicals with Aria Entertainment during the venue's opening three years, Proof will be Hope Mill Theatre's first self-produced play. Proof is Auburn's passionate, intelligent story about fathers and daughters, the nature of genius, and the power of love. Starring Angela Costello, Lucy Jane Dixon (Hollyoaks, Waterloo Road), Sam Holland and David Keller, the production also mark's the directorial debut of Hope Mill Theatre's co-Artistic Director, Joseph Houston.

Victory Gardens Theater continues its 44th season with the World Premiere of Rightlynd, written by Ike Holter and directed by Lisa Portes with original music by Charlie Coffeen. Rightlynd runs November 9 - December 23, 2018, with press performances on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 7:30pm and Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 3:00pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Steppenwolf for Young Adults (SYA) announced full casting for its upcoming production of We Are Proud to Present a Presentation About the Herero of Namibia, Formerly Known as South West Africa, From the German Sudwestafrika, Between the Years 1884-1915 by Jackie Sibblies Drury, co-directed by Hallie Gordon and Gabrielle Randle. It's the second of SYA's 2018-19 two-play season which asks, "When You Feel Lost, How Do You Find Your Way?" Cleveland Play House (CPH) kicks off its 2018-2019 Season with the spine tingling tale of Susan Hill's The Woman in Black. Hill's gothic ghost story, adapted for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt, will star Bradley Armacost as Arthur Kipps and Adam Wesley Brown as the Actor in the show that Daily Mail called, "A nerve-shredding experience." Director Robin Herford will recreate his original staging from the London West End. The American premiere of the West End Production is produced by PW Productions and Pemberley Productions. Previews begin on September 15th, with press opening on September 21st at the Allen Theatre in Playhouse Square.

Dorset Theatre Festival presents Holland Taylor's ANN, directed by Kristen van Ginhoven. Two-time Tony nominee JAYNE ATKINSON ("House of Cards," "Madam Secretary") will play Ann Richards, the former Governor of Texas known for a personality as large as the state from which she hailed. On The Quays, a New York City based production company aimed at producing works that promote inclusivity, has announced it will present the world premiere production of Gary Duggan's STOP/OVER, a swift new play about rekindled friendship, as part of the 2018 Dublin Fringe Festival. The full cast and creative team have been confirmed for the world premiere of The Lovely Bones, one of the best-selling novels of the 21st century. Adapted for the stage by Bryony Lavery from Alice Sebold's story and directed by Melly Still, it will open at Royal & Derngate, Northampton on 1 September 2018 before transferring to partner theatres Everyman Liverpool, Northern Stage, Newcastle and Birmingham Repertory Theatre. The show will also tour to The New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich.

Shakespeare's Globe has announced the all-female cast for Morgan Lloyd Malcolm's new play Emilia, directed by Nicole Charles. The play charts the life of Emilia Bassano, the poet, mother and feminist who is thought to have inspired the 'Dark Lady' in Shakespeare's sonnets as well as the Emilia characters who appear in Othello, The Two Noble Kinsmen, The Winter's Tale and The Comedy of Errors. Emilia continues to thread her way through each of the plays in which she appears this summer season, excepting Emilia the Abbess in The Comedy of Errors.

After a successful run in Central Park, playing to over 4,000 people, performances resume on Wednesday, June 27 in Rockefeller Park/Battery Park City for New York Classical Theatre's critically acclaimed production of Romeo and Juliet, directed by the company's Founding Artistic Director Stephen Burdman. The production will play this week through June 30, before continuing on to The Battery, Carl Schurz Park, and Brooklyn Bridge Park for performances through July 29. There is no ticketing, and all performances are free and open to the public. Performance schedule can be found at newyorkclassical.org.
