Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the five award-winning artists who will lead the creative team for the world premiere of Swept Away.

Qdos Entertainment today announce that Janine Duvitski will play Mummy Bear, Sophie Isaacs will play the title role of Goldilocks and Lauren Stroud will play Baby Bear in the 2019 London Palladium Pantomime Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Performances begin at the London Palladium on Saturday 7 December 2019 for a strictly limited 5-week run until Sunday 12 January 2020.

The musical comedy Good Morning New York premiered is Off-Broadway music at Feinstein's/54 Below October 4 ahead of its album debut on October 25, 2019.

Opera Omaha will open its 2019/2020 season with the return of Jun Kaneko's Madama Butterfly, his premiere opera production design, which debuted at Opera Omaha in 2006. Since it's opening, Kaneko's Madama Butterfly has painted the stages of San Francisco Opera, Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center, Atlanta Opera, Opera Philadelphia and many others, garnering national acclaim and adoration.

Valerie Simpson, who co-wrote hit songs for Whitney Houston and Ray Charles, performed a packed house with guitarist Felicia Collins at the Hackensack Performing Arts's PAC the House series on September 28.

Composer, writer and actor Dave Malloy's work includes the Tony Award-winning Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, Octet, and his upcoming adaptation of Moby-Dick - the latter directed by regular collaborator Rachel Chavkin and starring Malloy. It was announced today that the new musical Swept Away, featuring the music of The Avett Brothers, will have its world premiere at Berkeley Rep as part of their 2019-20 season, beginning performances in June 2020. Swept Away is produced by Berkeley Rep by special arrangement with Matthew Masten and Sean Hudock.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced that The Tale of Despereaux, a new musical, will join the 2019-20 season as its second special presentation solidifying the previously announced seven-show subscription season. Coming off a successful run at The Old Globe in San Diego, where it had its world premiere, The Tale of Despereaux, written and directed by PigPen Theatre Co. and co-directed by Marc Bruni, will begin previews at Berkeley Rep on Thursday, November 21, 2019 and run through Sunday, January 5, 2020. Qdos Entertainment today (Friday 24 May 2019) announce that Paul O'Grady will return to the London Palladium in Goldilocks and the Three Bears to play The Evil Ringmaster. Joining O'Grady and making his Palladium Panto debut will be Matt Baker as Joey the Clown who will star alongside season regulars Julian Clary as The Ringmaster, Paul Zerdin as Silly Billy, Nigel Havers as Daddy Bear and Gary Wilmot as Dame Betty Barnum.
