2019 Tony Award Honoree Michael McElroy and the BROADWAY INSPIRATIONAL VOICES announce the addition of Alicia Graf Mack to their 2019 holiday concert, Seasons of Inspiration. Ms. Mack is the current Director of Juilliard Dance, and co-founder of D(n)A Arts Collective, an initiative created to enrich the lives of young dancers through master classes and intensives. Her distinguished career as a leading dancer includes Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and special performances with artists such as Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Beyoncé. She is a recipient of the Columbia University Medal of Excellence, and Smithsonian magazine named her an American Innovator of the Arts and Sciences.

Andrea McArdle, whose successful musical theater career includes playing sleazy Sally Bowles in a?oeCabareta?? and sleazier prostitute in a?oeOliver,a?? will return to TheatreZone's stage in February in a tour de force dual role as the mothers of both Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan for the Florida premiere of Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera.

Performed in Told by an Idiot's trademark visual style, The Strange Tale of Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel looks at an unknown period in comic history when two maverick imaginations collided for a brief time. Playing fast and loose with the facts, the show is no nostalgic bio-drama, but an hilarious and deeply moving homage to two English men who changed the world of comedy forever. 5-STAR THEATRICALS has announced the full cast to join previously announced Tony nominee ADAM PASCAL (Broadway's original a?oeRogera?? in Rent and original a?oeRadamesa?? in Aida) who will star as Professor Harold Hill in the first show of its 2019-2020 season, THE MUSIC MAN, book, music and lyrics by Meredith Willson, musical direction by Brad Ellis, choreography by Peggy Hickey and directed by Larry Raben.

The Canadian Donald Sutherland will be honoured with a Donostia Award recognising his more than fifty years of excellent performances. The actor, who has participated in almost 200 productions, will attend the 67th edition of the San Sebastian Festival on Thursday 26 September to receive the accolade prior to the screening in the Kursaal of The Burnt Orange Heresy, a thriller directed by Giuseppe Capotondi. The film, with a cast featuring Mick Jagger, Claes Bang and Elizabeth Debicki will close the coming edition of the Venice Festival.

The Tribeca TV Festival will return September 12-15 for its third edition.The lineup is a showcase of new series debuts, new episodes from fan favorites, talks with creators and stars, and one-night-only events that can only be seen at Tribeca. As BroadwayWorld sadly reported last week, legendary Broadway director and producer Hal Prince passed away at 91 years of age after a brief illness, in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Disney's The Lion King crossed the billion-dollar mark after less than three weeks in theaters this past weekend, according to Variety.

FX today announced the cast that will star in the pilot for Gone Hollywood. Set in 1980, Gone Hollywood centers on a group of talent agents who defect from an old-guard percentery to found their own, which skyrockets to industry dominance, disrupting the business and changing movies forever. The show will mix its fictional protagonists with real-life entertainment figures and events.

Today, D23, the official Disney fan club, has announced the eleven recipients for the 2019 Disney Legends Award. This year's recipients are Bette Midler, Wing Chao, Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau, James Earl Jones, Kenny Ortega, Barnette Ricci, Robin Roberts, Diane Sawyer, Ming-Na Wen, and Hans Zimmer. 

Hamza teams up with multi-platinum French artist Aya Nakamura to deliver the music video for their acclaimed collaboration 'Dale x Love Therapy' from Hamza's debut album Paradise. The video opens up to a lively, Moroccan-themed club filled with dancers, party-goers, and spirited performances by Hamza and Nakamura. As the video transitions from 'Dale' to 'Love Therapy,' the club empties and viewers are taken to a desolate scene of wintry desert.  

Lecy Goranson will host a star-studded gala, celebrating this year's achievements of the Obie-Award winning theater ensemble, Elevator Repair Service. Under the direction of founding Artistic Director John Collins, ERS has been making original theater for 27 years. Artistic Director Helgi Tomasson and San Francisco Ballet today announced programming for the 2020 Repertory Season. Building on a heritage of commissioning groundbreaking dance from today's top choreographers, uncovering new choreographic talent, staging modern classics, and preserving the works that make up the canon of classic ballet, the 2020 Season places SF Ballet at the forefront of innovation and preeminence. Highlights include two new SF Ballet commissions by Cathy Marston and Trey McIntyre, and a co-commission with American Ballet Theatre of a work by Alexei Ratmansky; as well as works by George Balanchine, David Dawson, Harald Lander, Edwaard Liang, Benjamin Millepied, Mark Morris, Liam Scarlett, Helgi Tomasson, and Stanton Welch. The Season's three story ballets include Balanchine's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Wheeldon's Cinderella, and Tomasson's Romeo & Juliet.
