Tonight, NBC will air its sixth live musical production. Following in the footsteps of The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, The Wiz, Hairspray, and Jesus Christ Superstar, the peacock network will be presenting Annie. Based on Harold Gray's comic strip titled Little Orphan Annie, this musical tells the story of a little orphan with equal measures of pluck and positivity who charms everyone's hearts, despite a next-to-nothing start in New York City in the year 1933.

The show will be directed by Newly Appointed Redhouse Artistic Director Temar Underwood with choreography by Stephfond Brunson. As the first show of the season and the first live experience, Redhouse looked to choose a show that was joyful, fun and celebratory with an eye towards diversity and inclusion.

. Today’s leading artists gather on The Django stage to celebrate NEA Jazz Master Dr. Lonnie Smith in special back-to-back tribute concerts 12/9. Two leading pianists make their Django debut: Benito Gonzalez 12/3 followed by Orrin Evans 12/8 leading his new Brazilian project “Terreno Comun”.

All these questions and more are explored in this fresh adaptation of Aesop's Fables, dually inspired by the classic morals of these stories and the troupe of student actors who will bring them to life. The 2021-22 Season “Reignite, Reimagine!” continues with the return of Creative Cauldron's beloved Learning Theater production and Aesop's Fables, written and directed by Laura Connors Hull, with original music by Matt Conner.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival has announced the month-long, five-play O! Reading Series. For this new initiative, five directors who are part of OSF’s artistic staff have each chosen a play to be performed as a live digital staged reading by some of OSF’s favorite actors.

THE SPOTLIGHT SERIES, a bi-monthly livestreamed concert series created by A LITTLE NEW MUSIC will “spotlight” the catchy music of composer/lyricist team, Meinwald & Leary, on June 15th. The evening will be co-hosted by ALNM co-producers Luke H. Klipp and Kila Packett. The ALNM Spotlight Series is produced by Amy Francis Schott.

After what will be a 23-month intermission, The Muny's 103rd season will open with the Muny premiere of Smokey Joe's Cafe, followed by The Sound of Music, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, On Your Feet! and Chicago.
