MusiCares® announced today that four-time GRAMMY®-winning band Aerosmith will be honored as the 2020 MusiCares® Person of the Year. The tribute will take place during the 30th Anniversary MusiCares benefit gala, two nights prior to the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards® telecast. In the midst of celebrating 50 years as a band, Aerosmith will be recognized for their considerable philanthropic efforts over five decades and undeniable impact on American music history. Over the years, Aerosmith has shown support for a number of charity organizations around the world, including MusiCares and vocalist Steven Tyler's philanthropic initiative Janie's Fund, which supports young women who've suffered the trauma of abuse and neglect. The band made a surprise announcement about the honor onstage during their Park MGM Las Vegas residency Aerosmith: Deuces Are Wild, on Thursday night. Watch it here.

At first glance, Sarah Waters' fourth novel, the 2006 hit The Night Watch, is ripe for adaptation for the stage. A tale of love and desire set during and after World War Two, it follows the stories of four Londoners in reverse. They manage to survive The Blitz, but are forever-changed by their experiences.

The Manor- Murder and Madness at Greystone is by now a Los Angeles/Beverly Hills institution. The play, now in its eighteenth year, surpassed its 200th performance in 2014. The show is a roman a clef, a fictionalization based on real events with the actual historical characters given new names. To lend authenticity to the presentation, the show is presented in the grand and glorious architectural landmark in which the events of 90 years ago actually took place.

Shakespeare's Globe has announced the full cast for the 2020 Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank production of Macbeth, directed by Cressida Brown. This full-scale, fast-paced production is created especially for young people, and will open on Wednesday 26 February until Wednesday 25 March. This year, the demand was so high that over 18,000 free tickets were allocated to state secondary schools in London and Birmingham in just one day, with thousands more students expected to watch the production during its run.

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) opens the new year with the off-Broadway hit Admissions by playwright Joshua Harmon (Significant Other, Bad Jews). Winner of both the 2018 Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for best play, Harmon's newest comedy-drama explores white privilege in education-a topic made even more relevant by the country's headline-making college admissions scandal. Bryn Boice, associate artistic director of Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, makes her Gamm directorial debut with Admissions. The production features Deb Martin (Maxine Faulk in The Night of the Iguana) and Jim O'Brien (Mr. Mundy in The Night Watch) as husband and wife prep school administrators pushing for racial diversity in the student body. Gamm newcomer Jacob Osborne plays their son, whose Ivy League ambitions expose deep cracks in his parents' progressive values.
