Me and My Girl is a musical with music by Noel Gay and its original book and lyrics by Douglas Furber and L. Arthur Rose. The musical is set in the late 1930s and tells the story of an unapologetically unrefined cockney gentleman named Bill Snibson who learns that he is the 14th heir to the Earl of Hareford with action set in Hampshire, Mayfair, and Lambeth.

Miller and music direction by Porchlight Artistic Associate Linda Madonia at Porchlght's new home, the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. San Francisco's acclaimed 42nd Street Moon has announced the full cast and creative team for the 2017-2018 season's opening production, Ain't Misbehavin'. A beloved celebration of the music of Fats Waller, Ain't Misbehavin' was originally conceived by Murry Horwitz and Tony Award-winner Richard Maltby, Jr. The original Broadway production made a star out of Nell Carter, who won a Tony Award for her performance. Ain't Misbehavin' runs from October 11-29, 2017 and will perform at the Gateway Theatre (formerly the Eureka Theatre). TheatreZone Announces Behind-the-Scenes Tours Before Select 2017-18 Shows

TheatreZone will begin offering behind-the-scenes tours prior to the first Saturday matinee of each show next season. The 90-minute small group tours led by Artistic Director Mark Danni and Managing Director Karen Molnar Danni will include views of the dressing rooms, costume storage areas and behind the stage, as well as a brief presentation about the history of TheatreZone and the opportunity to watch actors preparing on stage with mic checks and vocal warmups for the afternoon's performance. A ticket to that day's show is not required. The ability to climb stairs is required, as elevator access is not available for all areas. (more...)

A 'Me and My Girl' Not To Be Missed It is infrequent for the theatre god of comedy to shine bright enough to induce glee, but that is what occurred on opening night of the Shaw Festival's utterly charming production of Me and My Girl. An alchemy of sorts has melded a super talented cast with the thoughtfully insightful director. The Shaw Festival has not always had a strong track record of completely successful musicals, but under new Artistic Director Tim Carroll's leadership, it seems as if the tide has turned. Of course, the selection of a musical with British heritage ( a rarity of sorts), fits in perfectly with the Shaw Festival's mandate. (more...)
