Following a triumphant sold-out season at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre last year, Fiddler on the Roof will transfer to London’s Barbican Theatre this summer, followed by a major UK and Ireland tour.

As this year draws to a close and the new theatrical experiences of 2025 are just about to begin, I am looking back at the shows of 2024 that have continued to capture my imagination.

Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for Fiddler on the Roof with book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick.

The Phoenix Theatre Company's edition of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, directed and choreographed by Staś Kmieć, is good and quite entertaining. In its own right, it follows the tradition of the Broadway musical ~ brisk, easy to consume, emotionally uplifting, and endowed with a highly talented ensemble.

Funny Girl gets a Brazilian production directed by Barchilon, starring Giulia Nadruz and Eriberto Leao as protagonists. With score by J. Styne, and lyrics by B. Merrill, the semi-biographical plot is based on the life and career of comedian and Broadway star Fanny Brice, featuring her stormy relationship with entrepreneur and gambler Nick Arnstein.

Quintessence Theatre Group, Northwest Philadelphia's first professional theatre company, has produced classic works of theatre for 13 years on stage at the historic Sedgwick Theater in the neighborhood of Mt. Airy. Season XIV includes six epic productions, four in repertory, on the lasting themes of love and war.

Fiddler on the Roof premiered at Alhambra Theatre and Dining on August 4th, “ya ba diba diba diba diba diba diba dum!” The musical, which first premiered in 1964, takes place in Anatevka in 1905 just before the Russian Revolution. The musical is beautiful and a great experience for Jacksonville audiences.
