The Philadelphia Artists' Collective has announced their 2023/24 season, featuring two highly inventive new productions that celebrate and challenge the expectations of classical theatre. PAC's diverse cohort of theatre artists, who stage rarely produced texts with visceral clarity in intentional spaces, announced the season at their annual launch party in Philadelphia, which was attended by dozens of patrons, neighbors, and friends.

Quintessence Theatre Group, Northwest Philadelphia's first professional theatre company, has produced classic works of theatre for 13 years on stage at the historic Sedgwick Theater in the neighborhood of Mt. Airy. Season XIV includes six epic productions, four in repertory, on the lasting themes of love and war.

Fiddler on the Roof premiered at Alhambra Theatre and Dining on August 4th, “ya ba diba diba diba diba diba diba dum!” The musical, which first premiered in 1964, takes place in Anatevka in 1905 just before the Russian Revolution. The musical is beautiful and a great experience for Jacksonville audiences.

Battery Dance will celebrates the 42nd Anniversary of its free summer festival from August 12-18, 2023, in partnership with Battery Park City Authority. The 42nd Annual Battery Dance Festival will feature in-person and live-streamed performances staged each night at Rockefeller Park, Battery Park City, New York City at 7PM ET, with a rain date on 8/19.

Montana TheatreWorks, producers of last summer's The Sound of Music, is once again assembling a first-rate cast and outstanding live orchestra, bringing to life such timeless songs as Sunrise, Sunset; Tradition; Matchmaker; and If I Were a Rich Man. Veteran actor and audience favorite Frank Simpson plays the central character of Teyve in one of the most beloved musicals of all time.

Hale Centre Theatre has announced their 2024 Season of Entertainment at the Mountain America Performing Arts Centre, with two regional premieres, one US premiere and a World premiere flanked by beloved classics. Season Ticket renewals begin about June 10th and the general public may subscribe starting August 1st.

Ensemble Q has announced its 2023 concert season at Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), delivering an exciting new series that will take audiences on a musical, visual, and immersive journey. 

Beginning on October 19 and running through November 13, 2022, Theater J brings Intimate Apparel to the stage. FIDDLER, which runs Dec. 14-19 at the Palace Theatre (34 West Broad Street in downtown Columbus), has everything a good musical should have: a solid plot that sticks with the viewer for months and months, excellent acting and singing, and catchy songs that leave indelible mark in the brain. Its ending, however, is also soul wrenching.

Whether it's a memory of seeing a middle school performance in an orchestra classroom like yours truly, watching the movie for a class, or starring as Tevye in your high school’s production, you would be hard-pressed to find someone who has no connection to the musical. And for cast members in the current National Tour like Jack O’Brien, that means being received by audiences like an old friend.
