Long Island's Argyle Theatre has announced its 2020-21 season! The season will include the world premiere of new Joe Iconis musical, Punk Rock Girl September 10 a?" October 25, 2020.

The Broadway community mourns the loss of multiple Tony Award® winning producer Margo Lion, who died on January 24, 2020 at age 75. To commemorate her life and work, the Committee of Theatre Owners will dim the lights of the Jujamcyn Theatres (the Al Hirschfeld, August Wilson, Eugene O'Neill, St. James, and Walter Kerr Theatres) where Ms. Lion often collaborated and worked; as well as the American Airlines, Bernard Jacobs, Helen Hayes, Neil Simon, New Amsterdam, Lincoln Center, Lyric Theatre, and Samuel J. Friedmans; in New York for one minute on Saturday, February 29 at exactly 7:45pm.

HAIRSPRAY will launch a new North American tour in Fall 2020. Following the Baltimore launch November 10-15, 2020, HAIRSPRAY will visit more than 60 additional cities in its first touring season. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Michael Longoria has released a sultry music video for 'Kiss Me (Like They Do In The Movies)', an original song written by Michael Longoria and arranged by James Dobinson. The music video is directed by Matt Simpkins and stars Longoria and Anthony Crouchelli. Well, 'Elf' is also a Broadway musical, and it's coming to The Media Theatre this holiday season (November 13-January 12). Christian Ryan directs and choreographs. Upper Deerfield residents will embrace their inner 'elf' when Woodruff School ACE Music presents their production of Elf The Musical JR., it was announced today by Drew Cohen, president of Music Theatre International (MTI). The show featuring 52 actors, 11-13/from 6th-8th Grade, premieres on December 12th, 2019. 'Elf The Musical JR. is an uplifting musical about one boy's quest to find his true identity. The story encourages each of us to approach each day with goodwill, wonder and cheer,' says Cohen. 'From the first rehearsal the students from Group Name have worked together as a team to create this wonderful experience for your community to enjoy. We think they deserve a standing ovation for all their work,' he adds.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre will present a staging of Elf Jr. a?" The Musical as a special Family Theatre Holiday Event for the upcoming Christmas season. Performances of the family friendly production will begin November 23rd and run through December 22nd at the popular Frederick theatre venue.

Civic Theatre's ELF THE MUSICAL takes the stage at the Tarkington, December 6, 2019. It is Civic's first holiday-themed show since moving to Carmel from Indianapolis in 2011.

Actor-singer-dancer-choreographer Adam Fleming became a part of Broadway history originating the roles of Sketch in Hairspray and Lucas in Bare. In 2005, he starred in David Brind and Adam Salky's acclaimed short film, Dare, about two teenage boys' tense, spark-filled encounter in a pool following high school play practice. Dare gained a cult following as part of Strand Releasing's 'Boys Life' series and ultimately achieved worldwide popularity via more than 12 Million views on Youtube. The fan fervor (and fan fiction!) eventually inspired a sequel, ten years later. The original and the sequel are now being presented together as The Dare Project and attracting new legions of fans.

Lone Star Theatre Company has announced that Kat Lozano joins ANIMAL HUSBANDRY as lead producer. The London based, Texas born, actress joins a team of producers that include producer Elda Ruiz-Dawson and associate producers Ramiro & Lupita Davila, Charles Barksdale, and Luis Ochoa-Andrade. David Davila's Animal Husbandry will premiere at the Under St. Mark's Theatre as part of the New York International Fringe Festival this October 2019 with direction by Sidney Erik Wright and intimacy choreography by Adele Rylands. The play stars David Michael Kirby and Daniel Anthony Hidalgo with lighting design by Hao Bai and costume design by Keyon Woods.

 Outfest, the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization promoting equality by creating, sharing, and protecting LGBTQ stories on the screen, announced today that it will honor Emmy Award-winning “Queer Eye” production company Scout Productions at the 2019 Outfest Legacy Awards Gala: A Benefit to Protect Our Past and Build Our Future, on Sunday, October 27th. Outfest will also honor “Vida” creator, executive producer and showrunner Tanya Saracho during the “Unveiling of a New Era” themed gala. The show will be hosted by Emmy nominated Sheryl Lee Ralph and include a special performance by Dana Goldberg. This year's awards dinner will once again take place at performing arts venue Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles, with head chef Neal Fraser of Redbird and the show will be produced by Tony award-winning producer Scott Mauro.
