Review: HADESTOWN TEEN EDITION at DreamWrights
by Sandra Harberger - Jun 6, 2026

Our narrator, the greek god Hermes, was portrayed by Elijah Barlett. His strong vocals and charisma gets our attention and introduces us to the tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice. In addition to acting and singing, Jacob Cunningham, played the guitar as well for his performance of Orpheus. Caitlin Shorey portrayed the pain and hope of Eurydice with beautiful vocals, and she even handled a microphone issue with seamless ease of a professional. Deaglan Benson played the villain in this story, Hades, and his stoic and cold performance contrasted with Riley Fidler’s fun and warm performance of Persephone.

Review: THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO, Royal Ballet And Opera
by Franco Milazzo - Jun 6, 2026

Mae West famously asked, 'Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you happy to see me?' Well, at the beginning of the relationship, he will no doubt be very happy to see you. But, at the end of the relationship… And that, my friends, is as good a summary of Mozart’s The Marriage Of Figaro as any.

Review: 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre in Santa Monica

9 to 5 the Musical was an enjoyably nostalgic experience for those of us who actually lived through working in mid-20th Century offices, albeit losing much humorous dialogue and lyrics due to the faulty sound system.

Review: NORA: A DOLL'S HOUSE at Chandler Studio Theatre
by Mary Baillie - Jun 6, 2026

Few plays have sparked as much controversy as Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House. First staged in 1879, its depiction of a woman rejecting the limitations imposed upon her shocked audiences and helped redefine modern drama. The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's final-year BA Acting students now bring Stef Smith's Nora: A Doll's House to the stage, an adaptation that reframes the story across three distinct eras. Drawing striking parallels between past and present, Smith's version asks an uncomfortable question: how far have we really come?
